I almost got locked out of HF account due to Authy.
I wouldn't recommend that, it wanted me to put some password in order to see hf gauth but I forgot the password and I didn't really remembered setting one.

I'm not talking about OP. I signed up 6 years before OP, and 7 years before you. 2012+ isn't old school you dildo. And THIS old school mf was using authy. You have another smart-ass response that I can shut down?

Homie, Authy is based on accounts. You sign up with an email and password and then all of your authenticators are tied to your account. You want these authenticators on a new device, all you do is log into Authy on that new device.
Your complaint is like going to the bank, opening an account, setting an ATM pin, then getting angry when you need that PIN to withdraw your money and don't have it saved.
You set yourself up to fail on this one.

I understand your point.
I'm just saying I was able to log-in and see the services I've added but to see the code it wanted some decrypting password I had no idea what was it and there was no way restarting it.
Also Authy was for me very messy, I didn't understood that application much and some functions/buttons weren't working.
Authy is probably similar to applications like lastpass but I'm not fan of authy, always had some issues with it.
Had the same situation a while ago with Google Auth after that I used Authy, much better IMHO.
Victim of this as well, however i dont mind starting over and being a little anonymous for a while. I have mailed a few with my new nick, but thats all :)

Hmm, I've never had that occur before.
On occasion when I open Authy, the application will ask my to re-enter my password, not to log in, but just as a precautionary measure simply as a means to make sure that I don't forget it. If I wanted to, I could click skip and it would take me straight to my authenticators anyways. I always thought that was kind of cool feature to help their users ensure they don't forget their password.

You make it sounds so easy?
Hack Forums moderators have nothing to do with account recovery.
Omni has the final say in this matter.

Correct: This subject has become more relevant lately.
(Old school HQ members) have been on this forum long enough to know better.

Your reply here just supports the fact that your intelligence shows you have no idea how Authy works or is implemented.
----------------------------------------------------
If we look at all the members/Threads that are having problems logging in after this
forum reset.
We will see most are using Google Auth
This is just one of the first problems.
1) Google Auth sucks dick and if you don't write down your key and save it?
Your shit out of luck.
2) Authy will synced among multiple devises. Cell phone/PC/Mac.
one would never have this problem if only they had researched.
3) This is not the first time Hack Forums has done a site wide login reset
and I'm sure it won't be the last time we see this.
4) There is no account recovery option available for laziness/stupidity if one can't take care of your own account.
5) I'll even make it more easy for everyone for future login resets with the link to Authy.

OP you should have backups saved just for this issue.
However account recovery is no longer a option.
It’s your responsibility to take care of your account login information.
Per Omni regarding account recovery:

Out of luck OP. It gets us all. Lost my old account from 2012 as well. (Mine was due to not coming on HF for more than like a year or something)

In this case specifically, Omni does know this is my account. He just won’t let me in for whatever reason.
At the end of the day, no one cares if u have donated or what you’ve done good on the forum. That’s the fucked up part.
Hf and humility don’t go on the same line.

The same thing can be said about you. You didn't care enough about your account security by ensuring the key still worked over time. Learn from this and test your keys in the future. Clearly personal security was at low priority for you. You should consider putting it at the top next time.
