Change a service name in Linux.

Hello.
Can I change "OpenSSH" service name to other something "FTP"? If I download the source code then which part must be edited?

Thank you.
Nah man, it's not nearly that involved. All you have to do is modify the systemd or /etc/init.d/ entry for the service daemon. The name of the init.d script is what determines the service daemon name.

Most configurations use systemd configurations. If you've used the systemctl command to start/stop services, this is what I'm talking about.
The RedHat documentation has some more detail that you can follow.

Thank you. In "/etc/init.d/" directory I just see:
Code
$ ls
functions  netconsole  network  README

Then look at the systemd files. /etc/init.d is deprecated and not often used anymore. Read the link I gave you.
