What is Solarwinds hacking all about? How serious is it from hacking technique and method points of view?

How did they do it? There are many ways of doing it, first of all you need to gain access to their servers. Maybe they phished by E-Mails or USB‘s. Another way would be social engineering e.g. Installing a Rat and they started doing their things. Or somebody is working as a server administrator and has done harm to the company without anybody knowing it.
