I don’t think so.

I think the reason for the huge price correction may have in fact been Tether dumping lots of the btc they have been holding in order to try and raise some cash liquidity to backup their claims that Tether is backed and avoid legal action.

Ultimately it seems they made a deal and succeeded. The timing of all of this makes for relative suspicion though. For the authorities to have agreed a deal, surely they must have seen, or been promised to have shown to them very soon, some proof of 1:1 Tether backing?

Everyone in crypto world knows there’s no way Tether could always have been 1:1 backed, so what’s going on?
