Lets compare whats wrong with our countries

An interesting concept.

Firstly I’ll slate my own country of Ireland.

I have just come back from a protest around night-time economy and how Ireland has the strictest night time by-laws in Europe. Our nightclubs close at 3AM where the European average is approx 5-6am.

Secondly, we’ve been building a new children’s hospital for the last 10 years, with the project delayed 3 times, at a cost of 2.2 billion euros with still no end date in sight.

These are just two of the scandals in which I’ll discuss, tell me what’s wrong with yours!
As a third-world country, I believe debt is our biggest problem. Borrowing from the IMF forces the government to repay much larger amounts in the future. In my opinion, that's the biggest issue.

Australia 🇦🇺

One thing that annoys me is how Australia feels like it's becoming more of a police state every year, yet youth crime and just crime in general seems to keep getting MUCH worse. It feels like more laws, more surveillance and more restrictions don't necessarily translate into people feeling safer.
Kind of ironic, really.

Oh yeah, lockout laws are complete BS in my opinion lol. So unnecessary. It's active in some states, not mine thankfully.

But what was pretty fucking insane was the covid lockdowns for my state, Melbourne. It was some of the extreme measures taken without any health or science backing. From curfews, to 5km radius zones, to $1300 fines for leaving your house and the list goes on.. pretty fucking strange for an advanced country like Australia. Bur yeah I guess just adding onto my main point. ⁉️
Well I'll talk about the USA.. God bless our country but.

I think the majority of our problems come from leadership, and corruption which every country deals with but with money and the American Dream being kind of built into our culture it seems like our politicians have been decently easy to persuade, and the ones that aren't as easy seem to get compromised, and or knocked off like JFK or what they did to Thomas Massie and just dump millions of dollars into opposition getting others out of office if they disagree with "mainstream" decisions within the party..

Would also like to say that it applies to our education system, though I do not think it is as bad as some make it seem to be I do think we are on the way there.

I do not think the majority of the people are ACTUALLY divided, it's more so our parties that are moving further apart (as of the last 20+ years), also not a fan of the two party system as it has individuals within the parties that think drastically different from one another.

Do you believe US presidents actually have the power to make their own decisions in regards to laws/regulations or in gov related policies? Or do you think there is a shadow government who makes the decisions and whoever is president at the fine acts on those decisions and does he/she is told? Genuinely curious to hear your side on this, as someone who lives in the Unites States.

I think they can make their own decisions, they have a cabinet full of people who may try to steer them one way or another, I think they also have other sectors of government try to do the same.. I don't think its as simple as a shadow government.

A "shadow government" could be the billionaires, and or other countries with ties to individuals within government that get paid off to influence say the president.

All this also translates to say social aspects and the internet with the same influences trying to steer our populist one way or another.

TLDR: doubtful but maybe

Sorry to cut in here, but absolutely not. Have you ever heard of a real politician that wasn't bought and paid for long in advance of them getting within a position of power? That isn't possible. The U.S. has the world's most powerful super pac's, which are the world's most powerful lobby groups. And lobbying isn't what you think it is. It is a do as your told and ordered to, or pay the price with your life. So you think the U.S. really wanted the Iran war? I highly doubt it because there was literally nothing in it for the U.S. but the Israeli lobby and all it's tentacles in U.S. lobby groups forced it to happen. And Trump had to go along with it just to save face. It would be interesting to know what they threatened Trump with first to make him go along with it. No politician is free to make his own choices, ever. It may look like that to the layman, but in reality it's do as your told and if you dissent, you disappear, your discredited, you get your house raided by the political police (aka FBI), and they make your life a living hell, if they haven't already killed you. And this is not fantasy or fan fiction. This is reality. The world's most corrupt government is the United States. Don't believe me? What U.S. politician, no matter what crime they have committed, has ever seen the inside of a prison cell? Was it Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden (also the first president to use presidential authority to pardon his own son), Trump, or any other politician in recent power and found to be absolutely corrupt, ever held accountable for anything? Democracy is a myth, sold lock stock and barrel.

I live in Canada. Probably impossible for me to say this without sounding like an asshole but immigration has gotten completely out of control here and it started with Justin Trudeau. I’m all for helping people, but dear lord after hearing Americans complain about immigration when I lived in the U.S. they haven’t seen anything yet.
Tax, Tax & More Tax, the biggest problem in all 1st world countries at the moment

2.2 billions for a hospital ? There have been some people stealing money from that for sure.

And this is the core problem. Those in power always use the public treasury as their personal piggy banks. Any major infrastructure projects are always another way to steal from the public because its tax money that funds these major projects. Politics is an infestation in every country and at every level. All of these rats are only in this for themselves. Living a comfortable life isn't enough. They want to steal as much as they possibly can.

Corruption, bad healthcare system (not bad in terms of USA, it's free but very very slow and a lot of people who live in the villages keep their dogs on a leash the entire life which hurts my soul.
