[Project]Let's make an open HF project - Ideas/Suggestions

Well out of boredom I have come to one conclusion. Why not try make an open source project here at Hack Forums? It could maybe bring up a lot interest in already active members in this section and forum, but maybe also new members or visitors. If the interest is good, then it could be a success, but it needs peoples to understand what it's about and that they are interested in it all. We're not talking a small project, but something really nice and useful. Right now the plan is just an open project, but I will be updating this thread, when peoples find out more they want and once we have got to a start of the project.

Post any ideas and suggestions for the project. What should it be? Name? Requirements? VB or C#? Post anything on your mind that it could be.

The project it self will be an open project and everybody would be able to contribute to it, but it's not for leeching purpose, but for learning. Remember that, so if you join you have to contribute your self also, but you will be able to learn from others and you can maybe learn them something also.

If you got any questions make a reply or PM me :)

I would prefer C# also, but let's see what the interest is going for.

I don't need. It's an open project where all contribute and we make something. 🤝
If it's an open project between us all, would it not make sense for it to be in VB? I mean do more people use VB then C#?

The languages are interchangeable, we can easily convert the project both ways(SharpDevelop, anyone?).

Even .NET Reflector can convert the languages, so peoples could just convert the codes from one language to another, if it's not the langauge they like the most. 😎
True, after seeing this i might begin to step up from VB to C#, but more people could join in from here?

Edit: You'se answered my question before i got to post it :D <3
I'll 100% join, I'll prefer VB.NET though

Anything. A game, an emulator, an application. Whatever peoples are interested in. That's why it's an open project. 🤝
Okay, so everybody who is in so far make a reply or post. I will be making a list of users up for it.
AIO (DDOS, Bruteforce, Email spammer, SMS spammer etc.)

some of us are a bit more grown up and knowledgeable to want to make kiddy shit.

Then what's your suggestion? 🤝
You can't complain as long you don't put any effort :P
I'm not really sure I've been sitting on this page for 5 minutes contemplating what to suggest and all I came up with was a website builder.

A simple easy way to create a website like drag and drop sort of like dreamweaver and Go-live but without any complications + it will be free.

Once the layout is complete have the program convert it to html/php/ (if we get really far java and sql)

I think this project would be nice because it gets everyone involved from web developers, programmers, even to the graphics crew.

Sounds interesting. WIth custom highlight etc. ?
I would also join if someone came up with an idea (always the hardest right?)

My C# is a little stiff. I do not prefer either one of C# and VB as they are, as stated earlier, almost the same anyway.

- Hmm I guess I would feel stupid if I didn't try to give an idea myself.
Even trough this is HF I think that it shouldn't be something directly hacking related. We have enough of that stuff anyway.

The problem is to make a big enough project that everyone can contribute to, and also at different levels.

Maybe some kind of chat system with desktop clients, file sending, encryption, online chat (login to chat online with everyone else even though they may be on desktop client), user profiles, maybe even webcam and all that stuff...

I think it would be fun and challenging to do. We would however need some servers but getting money for a VPS wouldn't be that hard would it? I would be happy to donate a couple of dollars each month if people used it.

Yup that's right. It could be anything as long peoples are enough interested :)
