I want to learn Java on my Kindle or my iPad when I'm in a library or something but the problem is that the eBooks that I've found are all from 2008 or later;in fact, they are pretty outdated. Can someone name some books that are au-courant?

I followed some tutorials used for the Netbeans IDE and when I attempted to Copy Pasta the code, the IDE brought up several errors and refused to run. :/ I'll take your advice and continue to study.
