Minimum Requirements for RATs?

What are the realistic minimum system requirements for using remote access tools? I'm looking at getting an old laptop only for hacking and was wondering what I could get away.
I haven't got one yet. I'm still looking on ebay for one for hacking. Can you suggest a rough spec I should be considering? is there anything essential I should look for as far as hard drive or ram? I won't be using it for anything else. I don't want to go overboard but I want it to do the job.

I have 4 computers 2 brand new Toshiba Laptops Win7 and 1 WindXP that is fast as fuck and a Vista all in one touch screen all to my self + a galaxy tab 10.1 and you know something? I love the XP for ratting! I run my VPN and everything on my desktop and browse my personal things on my vista RAT on my Toshiba's also (with different VPNS) and just fuck around on my other one.
Cheers guys, thats good to know, I figured it wouldn't need much. I'll start hunting for a bargain then :)
I suggest:
At least 1GHz Processor
At least 512MB RAM
At least 1GB Free disk space
At least Windows XP SP3
Internet Connection.
You will have to install .NET Frameworks most likely.

Cheers, thats great, should be able to pick something up pretty cheap at that spec. And the great thing is that I won't mind throwing it out of the window if theres a sudden knock at the door 😉

Or just put important stuff on memory card, or encrypt drive with truecrypt [Image: qsHqo.png]
Honestly your internet connection speed is more important than your computer specs.

and then swallow the memory card, good tip 😁

Thats what I figured but I thought I'd make sure, thanks for everyones input.

Get a PC with atleast 512mb RAM for Windows XP or 1gb RAM for Windows Vista/7.
And atleast 64mb of VRAM.

If its a too old PC when you have more bots or when try out some features it may crash or lag.

OK, thats good to know, the ones I'm looking at should cover that spec. In everyones experience does the operating system make much a difference?

You do realize even windows xp uses about 1ghz? I recommend at least 2ghz, 1gb ram, 1gb disk space and the rest this guy got right.

Dude wtf XP needs not even half of a GHz -.-

Ofc, thats why I said 1Ghz+. Just some other dude claimed XP needs 1GHz itself, so i corrected saying a half GHz is needed at most by XP. :D
