Do you feel that the desire to create a "fursona" stems from possible personality disorders?
For example... someone who suffers from extreme shyness might feel more comfortable shielded behind a full body fox costume?
That person, disguised as the fox, might then feel free to be the outgoing and spunky person they always wanted to be because... well... that is the personality of the fox.
I hope you didn't take offense to the term "personality disorder" and thanks for your answer. It was something I've always wanted to ask a furry but never felt comfortable asking.
