"Reasonable Amount" of threads per group in Group and Crew General Discussions |

When other threads are entirely drowned out of the first page, I should suggest you consider it a problem. Consider cross-posting in the marketplace: one seller can not post in two places, and two sellers can not post the same thread. It is reasonable to suggest that each group is limited to not one, but a reasonable amount of threads -- whatever reasonable means to Omni should he see this suggestion through. I wonder if such an event was jointly constructed and discussed in-group. Note I really don't have any fight to fight with the group.
Eh, who knows. I'll just leave this open. Perhaps Omni doesn't frequent the Group and Crew General Discussions section and this may be the easiest way for him to see what's going on and perhaps take action if he see fit.
Thanks.
I don't even browse groups anymore because of this issue. A group like them should have one main thread for gaming NOT 10.
Next thing they will do is keep Bum.ping each others threads & Honestly I'd never join any group on HF because of How LQ these groups have gotten & the sad thing is we have 3 groups for market place aka massive Bum.ping, & a gaming group that thinks there should be threads on HF for each game on the internet. He's busy enough as it is with OMC so this is just a waste of his time but oh well some people can't help themselves from mini-modding. My suggestion: to dissuade groups from flooding that section however Omni sees fit -- should he see fit. I am not attempting to mini-mod. I don't think PMing Omni about something so petty is the best idea, but whatever floats your boat. (May 15, 2014 06:05 AM)Vinnie Wrote: What, really? Then why would you say this if you don't want Omniscient to see it? I mean he's going to see it eventually. I said that because it's fairly common knowledge that PMing Omni about a suggestion thread isn't going to usually end up too well. He doesn't like when that happens. I do want him to see it, but not necessarily by you, or anyone else, PMing him linking it (just assuming that's what you did, idk). Anyway, thanks to the staff member who removed all those unneeded flaming posts.
The news section is different then the recruitment section plus all those threads are by the same person (Sir), not 10 different people with 10 different threads for 10 different games for the same 1 group. They could of gone in 1 game recruitment thread separated by the type of game or console they are played on. That is my opinion.
I think it should be allowed maybe, but there should be an option along the lines of "avoid all threads from XX group" for people who have no interest in a group. Let's hypothetically say I hated Vinnie and never wanted to talk to him. I could click "ignore all Instinct threads" or something like that.
PS: I love Vinnie, just an example. (May 15, 2014 08:27 AM)Vinnie Wrote: I don't think you can talk on behalf of Omniscient, you don't have that right, he'll decide for himself and the way you describe him is just disgusting. He's not some rabid person wanting to just attack members. I was not talking on behalf of Omni. The way I describe him sounds "disgusting?" Lol, Vinnie, what are you on? I'm aware he's not some freaky member-hating guy, I actually like him. I said that it's not a good idea to private message Omni about a suggestion thread because in this thread it says: Quote:If you PM me a thread to read in this section I'm going to automatically rep fuck you, ban you, and rip your account open like a can of tuna. When Omni clearly states he doesn't want people to PM him, well, I would assume he would mean you as well. (May 15, 2014 08:27 AM)Vinnie Wrote: But let me show you something pretty funny which is exact same as this, someone posted it but the post was deleted. The HF News sections and the group section isn't the same situation. I won't bother to change your mind because we both know even if I provided convincing evidence you wouldn't change your thoughts, but, well, it's not. Personally I think that group's should have their own respective sections for things like recruitment or announcements as a sub-section in the group section, but I don't really care enough about that to suggest it. (May 15, 2014 10:34 AM)Vinnie Wrote: Omniscient replied and he doesn't mind it. Sorry, Vinnie, but I am sure you understand when I say that I am going to completely disregard you stating that because you do not exactly have the best track record for private messages. Now, if Omni would close this thread himself and say he did indeed verify via PM that it's perfectly okay and nothing will be changed about it, then I'll fully accept it (not like I have much of another choice, lol). That's what I think the big deal is, anyway. Please do not post on my thread with off-topic information and flaming content. Thank you. Let me again make it clear I have nothing against Vinnie or Instinct. It's like having 10 threads on different stories of Jesus in the SRPP SF. Thanks for posting your opinion for the second (third?) time. We'll see whatever Omni says, when/if he decides to. |
