Skype GUI Re-design (Sign-in Screen)

Hey guys, now that I have a beastly gaming computer I'm getting back into graphic design and I love it! I can let my imagination flow into Photoshop and not have to worry about my RAM or processor being too slow or not enough! I plan on creating a GUI re-design for the popular instant messaging network Skype. I only have the login screen done and I plan on completely re-doing every aspect of Skype's GUI. I know it isn't much but does this concept look fitting for Skype? I'll be updating this thread constantly until the project is complete.

Looks nice, good job.
Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I'm actually considering changing the rounded rectangles radius since it's a dark themed GUI.

I added buttons that matches Windows 8 GUI.

The point of a GUI re-design is to make the application look better in the artists opinion, I thought it would look better with a more modern dark GUI. It doesn't blue in it for a reason..

I've changed the image's textbox's to have a 3px radius, I plan on changing the sign-in button's radius as well when I get home from school.

it's usually more important to fulfill the client than yourself. Unless you're into fine art.
It's not for a client.. Where'd you even read that it was? Don't criticize me for something that YOU thought.. Thanks for the 'feedback' though..
1. Colors.
2. Text alignment.
3. Use the same round corner width on all elements.. or don't use it at all.

1. I'm making it have a dark theme for a reason
2. The text is already aligned?
3. I'll change this

Thanks for your feedback Snorlax, I respect you a lot as a member and value your input!

Add colors.
Text is not vertically aligned as far as I can see.

What do you mean it's not vertically aligned? It is.

Same selection, just moved down: https://puu.sh/cfD2R.png

Sure the other letters are vertically aligned, but if the capital letters and "unregular" letters aren't, it will look weird.
Either pick another font of fix it yourself. There is more air beneath than above, which makes the text look like it's top aligned.
I fixed the alignment as much as I possibly can, I like the font so I'm not going to switch it. I did redo the sign-in button so now it matches the other two rounded rectangles.
reminds me of my design hahaha [Image: bcc007d75d17e045365ca386260d44cd.png]

I like it, did you do a a full redesign or just the sign in page?
Shit man, that's amazing as fuck.

Well done.
