We are currently recruiting for the first time, this will be the only recruitment for the year. We want people who are able to be more open about themselves and willing to help others however they can. We heavily recommend video or voice applications, it's the easiest way to get to know applicants better and has a much higher rate of acceptance. If you would like to make your application private feel free to send it directly to a leader via PM. We are mainly looking for people who have never been in a group before or are currently not in a group, but if you're currently in a group you can still get in, it'll just be harder. Feel free to make your application as long or short as you feel like, feel free to skip questions if you would like, but remember they are there for a reason.
Please use the following questions in your application, feel free to modify the design / formatting of the application, you can make it a voice app, video app, create a design with the questions answered on it, a website, or anything to show off your originality, completely up to you. Those that do video/voice applications still tend to have the best chances of getting accepted.

Explain, with examples, the skills you possess:
I'm a programmer (as you could tell by my name). I'm fluent in a few different languages, and make a good amount off of HF. Not that it would matter, but I'm also very good at almost any Call of Duty game. More innuendo wise, I've dealt with loved ones who've submitted to drugs, alcohol, and have even committed suicide. I'm always available to talk to users when they're in need of anything I'm able to assist them with.
Which section are you most active in and why?
I usually browse the new posts, but I usually find myself in their one of the programming sections, the marketplace, and the Lounge.
Marketplace - I'm very involved in the HF marketplace.
Lounge - The most general topics that I love to read
Programming - Well, you know.
Why do you want to join Phoenix?: It seems like a high quality group that I'd like to be in.
In one to three paragraphs, tell us a little bit about yourself personally or possibly something quite memorable that happened in your life, or an explanation of what makes you who you are.:
Well, I don't really like describing myself, but I'm more of 'the quiet guy' that has an infinite mind. I'm always thinking, but I never really express my thoughts or opinions. Something memorable, I don't know if that's supposed to mean bad or good, so I'll just go with good. Something memorable for me would have been when I was around 7 and my parents got in a car accident and almost died, but survived. My stepdad had to wear a neck cast for 2 months, and my mom broke her ankle. I'm very thankful they're still alive.
Where do your priorities in life lie? What is most important to you?
My priorities, let's see.
Keeping up in school, helping others, and playing around online.
What caused you to stay active and be part of the community on Hackforums after first joining?
I was mostly interested in the programming sections at first, but then I realized how cool the rest of HackForums was and decided to stay and browse around more.
It's now part of my daily routine.
If you like this, I'll whip up a video and send it to you guys. Just let me know :)
I don't know if I should reserve this spot because you guys might not be able to handle me.
Good luck, this is once in a lifetime chance so make it count. Best group to be apart of on HF, amazing people.

Who are you to critisize someones application? You're not in Phoenix nor do you know what the leaders are looking for in terms of members. Yes, there is an application giving guildlines, however there is a lot more to it. This is a recruitment thread, not a thread meant for singling out individuals and making them feel bad about an application they deemed good enough for recruitment. Please keep any bashing comments off of this thread, ecspecially if you're not even in Phoenix and have no idea how the recruitment process works, not cool man! Please be respectful of others 🙂 ; as I'm sure you'd want if you applied.
Regards.

Explain, with examples, the skills you possess:- Gaming
Since I was very young, I have been interested in video games.
I remember when I was three years old and I got a Nintendo Entertainment System from a pawn shop along with Mario and Duck Hunt.
I remember it taking me at least half a year to beat Mario and at least a full year before I could do it every time.
That was my first experience with video games, I have obviously grown up, and have enjoyed this new age of the video game industry.
Graphics, game-play and the flow of the games have really improved, and so has my skill with video games.
Now a days, I play games like League of Legends, Call of Duty, Starcraft, Minecraft and Diablo.
When it comes to LoL and Starcraft, I'm fairly decent at them both; well at least by my standards.
I have a real love for strategy based games due to the fact that just one decision that you make can completely change the entire direction you are heading in.
Call of Duty, I'm fairly great at. I don't see it in the way most people see it, such as "run here, shoot that guy, shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot!!!!" I put a lot more thought into everything I do, because I feel that strategy is the most important aspect of being good at any game.
I over-think every single play I make down to the last detail just because I don't want anything going wrong with the game, or with any of the people counting on me. This applies to real life as well, but I'll get to that later.
- Computer repair
I've grown up around computers, using them for school and gaming my entire life.
I never had high-end computers, so all maintenance was done by me.
Most of my computer knowledge has come from my dad who used to be an IT technician for various companies.
When I was young and my dad wasn't around, I probably screwed up my computer every other week, and because of this, I always had to find the way to fix my computer myself without any real help because this was back before the smart phone era where you could just pull out your phone and do a google search.
Usually, I'd be able to fix the problem that I caused, but other times I'd have to reformat and start from scratch.
Now I'm pretty talented with computers and computer repair; whenever I screwed up, I'd learn something new.
There is still a lot for me to learn about computers, such as programing and website development, but I'm sure if I set my mind to it, I could easily learn those skills.
Which section are you most active in and why?
My most active section is the lounge, but I'm also in love with the League of Legends section.
I love the lounge because it has a lot of fun people, and it's very easy to make friends in it.
Added, there are also a lot of trolls, but that is what makes the lounge what it is; a lounge.
As for the League of Legends section, it is my most played game, so I like to go in there and read threads by members that give tips or answer members who are looking for tips.
Why do you want to join Phoenix?:
The reason I want to join Phoenix in particular is because it seems like one of the most high quality and friendly groups here on Hack Forums.
When I look at groups, I see them as a place to learn new things, meet new people, make friends and make an impact on the community.
Basically, groups to me are like a family.
I think that Phoenix is a family I want to be a part of, and hopefully a place where I can put my skills to the test as well as adding more to my skill set by interacting with the great members and reading the tutorials this community has to offer.
In one to three paragraphs, tell us a little bit about yourself personally or possibly something quite memorable that happened in your life, or an explanation of what makes you who you are.:
In late 2011 I was involved in a head on collision with my best friend and his sister, I was unconscious for a few moments, and when I came to I could smell gas, radiator fluid and a fire.
My best friend was saying we had to get out of the car and his sister was in the back seat screaming at the top of her lungs.
I had to pull my best friend out of the car and carry him to a side walk before returning to the car and carrying his sister out as well.
Luckily, my best friend had only broke his leg and had a slight concussion, I messed up my knee, had lacerations and bruises and his sister only had bruises.
But at the time, I was honestly worried that one of them was seriously hurt.
After that, I realized how important life is and how quickly something can be taken away from you.
And that realization changed me as a person, I started to really appreciate who and what I have in life.
Where do your priorities in life lie? What is most important to you?
To be perfectly honest, I don't really know as of right now.
I used to prioritize friends above all else, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the right thing to do anymore.
I love to educate myself in a little of everything, but I don't really make that my priority.
So to me, I believe that I need more time to discover who I am as a person before I really set some major goal for myself, and I think that being part of this group will let me experience more here on HF that will better me as a person as well as help my HF career and might even help me find where my priorities lie.
What caused you to stay active and be part of the community on Hackforums after first joining?
Well, when I first joined hack forums, it was to learn about ddosing and if there were ways to prevent it.
But then I discovered the Social Engineering forum, and it really made an impact on my life. It helped me get out of the house and talk to people and stop being so shy because I started understanding the way OTHER people thought and looked at the world.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the Social Engineering forum, I really wouldn't have been able to interact with anybody the way I do today.
But then, when it was closed, I stopped coming on HF for a while; but then one day I was bored and stumbled upon HF again looking for information on overclocking computers and then found that there was an Anime forum! I spent about 2-3 weeks just lurking and posting occasionally, but eventually outgrew it, so I moved on to the Xbox forum and The Lounge.
Anything else you would like to say:
Thanks for considering my application and if there is anything that you feel like I didn't answer thoroughly, please don't hesitate to pm me about it.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

I would much rather a user prove their abilities than lie, no?😉
Although constructive critisism is always good, you can hardly critisize on someone's own life experiences. Not to mention how the user writes his application should be nothing of his concern
Hard to critisize something that you have never experienced, no? 🙂
No more arguing from me, this is a recruitment thread not one for debating/bashing.

Which section are you most active in and why?
Well, as you can see by my post activity, obviously the Instinct subforum and the lounge.
But I also have quite some posts in Innuendo, and I am being active a lot more in that section.
I mostly stick around the lounge/personal life sections/ and the marketplace sections at the moment.
Why do you want to join Phoenix?:

On the internet.
I believe many careers will be made with the internet.
But that's what everybody else is saying.

Skills, huh good question. I would have to say that I like to debate but I would not say that I'm no master debater. I work in automation and integration with PLC and HMI. I don't really see a section for that here but I could help on another level. I do the IT for my company, I'm not a professional but the task as been given to me and I learned the hard way and will continue to learn. I know some C and VB coding but want to get better, would like to get into python though. I'm a drafting tech as well, there is not a section on that ether but again I could help on another level. I am not limited to this as my skills continue to grow.
I would also Like to add that I'm patient, I find this to be a good skill.
Which section are you most active in and why?
Lately I have been in the General Topics section, I like express my view and argue fact with some topics that I have been in. In the future I'd like to help out more given the personal experiences I have and apply it when people ask for help. I have also been in the linux section as well as the mac section. I like both sections and will become more active once my skills have improved. I want to learn everything I can about linux as it fascinates me. Also I will become more active in the coding section once my skills have improved as well.
Why do you want to join Phoenix?
Bottom line, I want to help people. I have become more active an will continue to stay active.
In one to three paragraphs, tell us a little bit about yourself personally or possibly something quite memorable that happened in your life, or an explanation of what makes you who you are.:
I am married to a wonderful women and we are expecting our first kid. She from Mexico born and raised, and we applied for the fiance visa to allow her to come to the USA for us to get married legally. This story is long and complicated but it was a lot of paperwork and a week long stay at Juarez Mexico. For anyone who does not know Juarez is one of the most dangerous cities. I was a firefighter and moved to help my dad, after that I started at the company and have been here 5 years. I celebrate diversity, I love the Mexican culture. I find that being raised with to different cultures makes you able to see the differences, both positive and negative, and use this for every day life. There is a lot more to me and hopefully you will get the chance to get to know me.
Where do your priorities in life lie? What is most important to you?
First and for most my family, second my friends who I would like consider family. Education is also important to me and will pass this on to my kids.
What caused you to stay active and be part of the community on Hackforums after first joining?
Like I said earlier, I want to help. At first I was not as active only because I was getting a feel for the forums, and still getting a feel. I like the community and want to see it grow.
Anything else you would like to say?
I would like to be apart of this group if I am worthy. If I'm not worthy then I would like to know why so that I can improve.

Why do you want to join Phoenix? I would like to join Phoenix because I see it as a great opportunity to meet new members, learn new things, and help provide towards one of the greatest groups Hackforums has seen. I overall think I could benefit the group, whether it be donations, or helping with some tasks of other members.
In one to three paragraphs, tell us a little bit about yourself personally or possibly something quite memorable that happened in your life, or an explanation of what makes you who you are. Recently I was arrested under major possession charges (read about here) and it's affected my life tremendously. I've been out of school for over a month, this has made me realize a lot about life, well-being, and a handful of other things. This event also has just opened my eyes in general, and I can gladly say that the arrest has help me in ways I can't explain.
Where do your priorities in life lie? What is most important to you? Family, friends, money. Family has been there since day one, so their my priority. Friends come second next to money, they're there when you need them and they help you out, this being real life, or online friends. Last of all, money, "Enough of this shit’ll make you invincible, able to conquer the world and eviscerate your enemies" - Jordan Belfort.
What caused you to stay active and be part of the community on Hackforums after first joining?Well at first, this may sound unjust, but the overall layout attracted me enough to stay. From there I met some cool people and found the site very resourceful and overall a fun place to be. I've given out a few things here and there, bought a few things here and there, and sold a few things here and there. Contribution is key.
Anything else you would like to say:Other than I'd kill to be in this awesome group, not really. I promise activity, and respect. Thanks for your time.

I was also responsible for advertising and promoting the band. I had to make sure that the band got paid; this was a source of extra income and taught me management and leadership skills.
