In my experience the following method solves almost any windows boot issues. Try it out.
  • Insert your Windows installation or recovery CD

  • Boot to System Repair Options

  • Open command prompt

  • Type BOOTREC /RebuildBCD and hit ENTER
    • This rebuilds the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) file

  • Type BOOTREC /FixBoot and hit ENTER
    • This writes a new boot sector to the system partition

  • Type BOOTREC /FixMBR and hit ENTER
    • This writes a Vista / Win 7 MBR to the system partition; does not overwrite the existing partition table

How did you follow Aura's instructions without a recovery CD?

Do the same with my instructions, ignore the part about putting in the CD.
Open up your command prompt and type the following code:
Code
chkdsk /f C:

Replace C with whatever the hard drive is. It's most likely C.

Okay. Tell me how the chkdsk goes when it's done.
Just switch to linux dude. Free and awesome.

Either of those two are really easy and user friendly.
