Ping spikes in games

I hope this is the correct section for this, couldn't see anywhere better suited. Basically, whenever I play any game on my computer (mostly CS:GO and LoL), I get incredibly rapid and frequent ping spikes. I have fine internet speeds and unlimited data. It seems to happen more often when my brother is also on the internet (all he does is play CS:GO/LoL like me, doesn't download etc - I know it's not that). I've noticed when I go on my Xbox, this lag also happens in FIFA and other online games. I checked my NAT type on my Xbox and it says strict. Could this be the issue? I know there's hundreds of guides/videos on how to change your NAT type for consoles, but could this be my PC gaming issue too? How to fix? Thanks for all replies.
