Also, the R9 390x will be able to use DirectX 12 to it's full capabilities, unlike the GTX 980
Seems like the extra $200 will be worth it, no?
The Titan X has the same bandwidth as the 290X which kinda defeats alot of the purpose of haiving so much Vram however if u hated money and had SLI Titans you will benefit from having shittones of ram on 6k res games.
The 390X should have DOUBLE memory bandwidth of the Titan X with a bit more compute performance and should be pretty good at tesselation as well maybe even close to the Titan X (The 285 beat the 290X in tessellation despite having shitty specs because of 1.2 architecture.)
AMD always destroyed Nvidia in Computer and pretty good on wider memory bus however Nvidia was ahead on tessellation. Gameworks games typically try to bottleneck AMD cards by using excessive tesselation which hruts their cards less than AMD cards, forcing physx making AMD cards offload it to CPU as amd cards are blocked from physx and shit like that. AMD has been trying to eliminate the bottlenecks that Nvidia is forcing on them and DX12 removes a huge bottleneck GPU's have the drawcall bottleneck.
Nvidia cards get most features from DX12 but not all.
Not only do I think the 390X will beat the Titan I think it will last more than twice as long due to driver updates from AMD while Nvidia will neglect Titan after Pascal comes.
