[TUT] Useful logo effect, yet simple [Beginners]

Hey guys, so this effect is quite simple to do yet really effective. This is done by many people but I know many unexperienced people may not seem to know this! So let's start! Final Look: http ://i.gyazo.com/fe707ce1846186ccc37962c7c53180d0.png First of all start off by making a simple (for example) rectangle shape like a square. And adding a simple color to it like this: http ://gyazo.com/7f45f161cb075945a5dadb3a384f4299 Next, you get in the pen tool and do something like this (But be sure to make a new layer first): http ://i.gyazo.com/236869c7914a5aef08394ff2747a1189.png Then right click and select make selection and pick a color of the shape you made and darken the color of it. http ://i.gyazo.com/d55bda634c80cfe8787edf5342cbca55.png Then go create clipping mask, lower the opacity the bit and with the soft brush tool delete a few parts on the top and bottom. And you can also move them wherever you want. http ://i.gyazo.com/fe707ce1846186ccc37962c7c53180d0.png Sorry for no images,
