To be honest people have been talking about this group as being a dead group and when I say that I mean the sub-forum showing up with large amounts of inactivity. I would like to change that perception and view the people have on the group a little bit and bring some life to it. Although I do not have every day to devote to the forums like I used to, I am still relatively active. I am eager to participate in whatever the group is going to be doing next, seeing as though a good start was making a recruitment thread. I thought I might as well take advantage of this opportunity and submit an application.
How much time can you devote towards group activities:
As much as I can for now, as the winter season approaches I will have more and more time to put towards whatever need be. For now I am working over 115 hours a week.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section): Red Lions is a prestigious group in my eyes simply because their member base consists of only the top elite on HF. With that being said, I don't consider myself in the same ballpark as any of the current members of the group, but I'd like to think they'd give me chance to prove myself and see that I'm the kind of member that goes above and beyond when I'm given the opportunity. So many users are desperately trying to get accepted into Red Lions simply for the userbar, that makes m absolutely sick. That just goes to show you the type of individuals we have on these forums. I'm an active member of the community and I think my skills will be beneficial to your group. Hopefully, when you read this you think about perhaps giving me a chance to prove myself and I'm 110% sure you'll be extremely happy with the results. Thank you to the leaders of Red Lions for hosting this recruitment and thank you again for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read my application. If any questions arise, you can contact me via PM or ask for my Skype through PM. Thank you and have a great day.

In one paragraph, describe your personality: I'm the kind of person that never settles for good. Everything I've ever done online or in person has been to the best of my abilities and I pride myself on just that. Character says a lot about a person and if settling for things is alright with you, I feel very sorry for you. I'm very laid back when talking with friends or playing Xbox with them as it's a fun experience and there's no need for negativity and rage. I'm also fairly difficult to upset in anyway shape or form. I don't hate anyone, but I'm sure I could name a few individuals that I strongly dislike. In my eyes, hating someone is a waste of energy. I just continue to live my life and they continue to live theirs and never our paths shall cross. That just about sums up my personality. I live by the saying treat people the way you'd like to be treated because it's a two-way street with that rule of thumb. Treating people the way you'd like to be treated doesn't always work out for you in the long run, but whoever was being an asshole to you in the first place will get theirs in the end. As stated above, thank you leaders of Red Lions for hosting this recruitment and thank you for reading up on my personality. I hope I've convinced one or two of you to give me the opportunity to show my skill set in this prestigious group. Everyone have a great day and I look forward to possibly chatting with you all.
Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10: I'd give myself a solid 9 for grammar.
What are some of your skills?:
I would say in general I'm adept in several fields given that I have had a variety of experiences in my life that have attributed to a well-rounded background. As a kid I was forced to do a lot of academically inclined activities, including math competitions such as the AMC 10 and I qualified all the way up to the USAJMO level. I pursued this math ambition from late elementary school until around sophomore year in high school, where I decided that my math progression wasn't going to benefit me if I kept on accelerating; by the time I was a junior I had run out of math classes because I had already completed BC Calculus (and gotten a 5 on the exam ;3). Nonetheless - this helped foster an innate problem solving ability which I find helpful in all fields since I had to do a lot of computation and problem solving at a young age.
I'm a producer as well. In my free time I mess around in my studio which I have set up in my basement and make beats and kill them with logic pro x. I have a bunch of friends come over with similar musical ambitions and we can make some pretty neat stuff - I wouldn't mind sharing some of the stuff I've made with you guys. I've written a lot of raps and music in class and in my free time as one of the forms to truly express my feelings without "fronting." I personally feel many of the situations we encounter day to day involve us playing a false persona, and I got frustrated with this and found music as an avenue to escape and find freedom; which is why I still pursue this art today.
Given my 14 AP classes taken in all of high school and 34 on the ACT, I have a lot of background knowledge as those courses have required me to read a lot. I'm an avid read, speaking of which, and I spend a lot of my time reading. I'm a self acclaimed speed reader and can read around 450 words per minute, which isn't great but it's definitely faster than the average. Currently my favorite book is 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene - has a lot of aphorisms in it which I follow daily. Also the Art of Seduction by Robert Greene is an interesting read and helps give a lot of insight into the psychology of male and female actions.
Finally, I would say I'm a decent entrepreneur, however i'd have to let others decide. I flip a lot of items, including clothing (specifically supreme, I have a few bots and every Thursday me and my partner manage to grab the most hyped pieces and resell them for almost 100% profit). I also sell a lot of usernames on here, you can check my threads out for all the sales I have made. I have the hustler mindset, which is why I am so enthralled with producing and MCing in general as well.
tldr; i have a variety of analytical skills and can use many programs which could be handy in accomplishing many tasks efficiently.
How can you contribute to the group?:
I think one contribution I can make to red lions is helping the marketplace become a safer area. Having a free of charge MM system (although there are a lot in place already) in the name of red lion would help ensure that no one gets scammed, and since I can be online on hackforums nearly all the time since my job permits me too and so do my activities, I would be available to help mentor this service. Helping make the market place area more secure is one of my primary goals since, as you can tell by my posts, its my most active section. I get a lot of people who back out of deals randomly for no reason and obviously they have malicious intentions. Having a prompt way to complete trades between uses would help encourage the market to grow on HF rather than shrink.
I am in general not a stickler for rules, however the rules enforced on HF help with the organization and function of the site, therefore I would help uphold these rules in the name of the group. I think that this is a dynamic issue that has a dynamic answer as HF changes as a forum - for example, right now groups are in a low spot, so having a strong pool of Red Lion applicants that can join and help make a significant impact on the forum would help bolster the name of groups in general.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section):
I would like to join Red Lions because most of the groups on Hack Forums represent and elitist hiearchy that I don't want to take apart of. They don't have any projects or do anything as a group together to help the forum - which is a fundamental flaw in the concept of groups. I think groups should enhance the usability and vibration of the forum and I strongly believe I could be a viable asset for red lions in this instance.
I would also actively participate and start discussions in the SF that are interesting and pertinent, which I think would fuel healthy relationship among group members. Once group members are more close knit (which I'm sure they are in such an exclusive group), team synergy will allow for effective consultation of plans to help make this place better :)!
How much time can you devote towards group activities:
I can devote 20 hours - 30 hours a week solely on hack forums, but I can always adjust my schedule accordingly - I would say that is one of my strong personality traits.
Name: Shield
Age: 18
Country/State: USA
In one paragraph, describe your personality: I would say that I am an introverted person by nature. As I talked about in my skills part of the application, I was raised in a very math oriented family which contributed to my nerdy-side, but it also turned me into a diligent, focused problem solver. I made friends with such people in my early years of public education who all were usually social outcasts - luckily I broke out of that group in high school but reconnected with them in senior year after we had all matured and I had gone through my whole pothead phase (not sure if it's done yet lol). Anyways, I really dislike fake people and artificial personas, just fakery in general, which is why I get aggravated by many people on this forum and in real life. I follow my own set of values and beliefs since I know what best works for me, and I don't take criticism from others seriously since most just talk out of their ass anyways. I'm a sociable person and love to make intellectual conversation, solve problems, and help people. I also love reading books and discussing them with people because I feel like it's a good way to bounce ideas of each others, and what is more important in this day and age than ideas?
Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10: 7, 8.5 when I proof read but I honestly could perfect any conventions to the highest degree if it were really necessary.
What are some of your skills?:
Expert in marketing/sales, I also pride myself in helping out other people - I believe my teaching / motivating skills are a powerful asset.
How can you contribute to the group?:
I love to help others out, I often host free mentoring sessions to the HF members and I'd represent the group in a positive manor. And also, host multiple giveaways in the name of Red Lions, and I'm not talking about "low baller" giveaways.

Red Lions to me is the most unique group on the forum and in the eyes of many, is the "perfect" group. Unlike the other groups, only the best of the best can get in and this is why it's such a high quality group. Whenever I see a post from a member of Red Lions, I know that I can expect a high quality post and will always read it from start to finish. Sometimes, I feel like I'm a reflection of a Red Lions member, in a different condition. I can relate to a lot of things that the group do and I often find myself doing the same - Helping others out / Bringing goodness to the forum / High quality posts.
I almost feel like I belong in this group and it is perfect for me. As of right now, I've been involved in a misunderstanding but I plan to get this all fixed soon and then hopefully, the leaders can see for themselves that what I am saying is true. Right now my eyes are set on getting into this group and I hope this can have even the slightest effect on my chance.
How much time can you devote towards group activities: However much is necessary, I'm on pretty much everyday and every night, even when I'm out, I have my phone on me and can continue to work on whatever it is that needs working on and helping others out / replying to their posts and messages.
Name: Ellis
Age: 17
Country/State: United Kingdom
In one paragraph, describe your personality: I'm accepting of anything, I don't judge people and I'm really honest. I'm pretty greedy when it comes to getting what I want though, I guess that is one bad trait but I don't let it negatively affect myself or those around me.
Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10: 10
Also, I'd like to add in, there's something going on at the minute (check my posts/rep) which should be fixed pretty soon.
Name: Loki123 (I've got an issue with posting my real name publicly on HF)
Age: 19
Country/State: Iceland
In one paragraph, describe your personality:
I can never say no to my friends, enjoy the occasional discussion concerning realistic topics that either involve politics or what ever that could be. I like dogs more than cats but do not hate any animal and browse 4chan.org at least once a day. And yes, I do laugh at gore because it is funny aside from anything related to children.
Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10:
English is not my native language however I would rate it around 7-ish. I will never say my English is perfect yet from my end it seems to beat most of the grammar people on this site have, or at least those who I have seen.
What are some of your skills?:
My skills are mostly around *Nix systems. Either it is debugging problems and fixing them or with setting up and configuring various applications. That at least is where my expertise lies, but other subjects are not completely dead to me and on case to case basis I could jump in to assist in something I either know or have previously needed to do myself and that could be more than just a little bit as I've been playing with, fucking up and starting over with different types of operating systems for the past 7-8 years. I'm not useless when it comes to coding in PHP but that isn't an expertise of mine but more of an hobby. I enjoy having problems such as compiling C or C++ applications and reading through error messages to find the solution and understand why it didn't work.
I've always been intrigued with computer security, privacy, piracy, anonymity and so on. After having owned a site that is around the same scale as HF is and illegal I should have picked up a few pointers that I can give out about what does and doesn't work when considering your privacy and anonymity. Special thanks to knowing some of those points go out to my friends who were "busted" back in the day.
https://torrentfreak.com/kids-detained-b...es-101205/
How can you contribute to the group?:
I could contribute to the group in nearly any way asked of me.. I'm very interested in topics that concern any *nix systems, its philosophy or quite simply how to get alsa or pulseaudio to work.. Aside from that I'm also interested in topics such as RFID and other insecure methods that millions of people use everyday. The fact that RFID is seriously used today as payment method is laughable and plain and simply stupid considering all the demonstrations that show how vulnerable it really is. But so, yes, I can contribute quite to the group, mostly in my area of expertise and usually lay back when I do not understand a topic completely.
Links to any contributions:
To add to this I most likely have about 100-200 threads solved inside the *nix section but keep in mind I'm not perfect and have made my mistakes as well inside there.
Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section):
I don't really have many reasons to join the group. I'm very interested in knowing what direction this group will take as it has been inactive for quite some time. I have my ideas on what direction it should take however I'm not sure the group is even a fit for me. If I get accepted only time will tell if I actually want to be a part of the group or if I quite simply will leave it. I don't do much on HF anymore except by answering questions inside one forum which is the Linux/FreeBSD/Unix flavors section and it would be nice to have a new, hopefully active forum to both contribute to and be active within along with maybe making my stay here on Hackforums enjoyable once more and becoming more active elsewhere than in the one section I'm truly active within.
How much time can you devote towards group activities:
Hard to say... I can't decide right now if I even like the group and would want to be a part of its future.. I've joined and seen a few groups and none of them felt appealing to me when I got accepted into them. If I like the people in the group I could spend an hour or two a day contributing to the group with ideas as well as to execute those or other ideas. But then again; If I don't like the group and it doesn't suit me then of course I don't belong in it and therefor wouldn't contribute much. If any of the judges of this application have been in the brotherhood over the past two years circa they know that I want and am able to contribute to the group, however of course that is based on how much I like the group, the people in it and its direction, the only reason I continue to contribute to The Brotherhood is simply because I like the people inside that group as well as its current path. However to be clear... I have a few hours per day to be active on this site, but all comes down to the group if I am even willing to put that time into the group.

Age: 15 ( Almost 16 )
Country/State: In this case it's Country / Province. Canada, Alberta
In one paragraph, describe your personality: I'm an outgoing jolly person to be around, I love helping others and am very polite. With the proper motivation I'm a very fast learner when teaching myself. I'm a fairly exclusive person in fact Red Lions is probably the 3rd group I've ever applied for on HF. I'm a cool person, love meeting new people but at the same time could be shy as well.
Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10: 8
What are some of your skills?: As stated above I'm a very quick learner as long as I have the proper motivation, I consider this a very valuable asset. I've been working with servers for around ~6 years now largely consisting of things like Web server networks, VPN Networks, I've worked with multiple distro's such as Ubuntu & CentOS as well as Debian. Alongside having lots of experience with servers, I'm also a junior web developer, I can fluently code HTML and CSS but my color blindness disability ruins the aesthetics of my developed pages. I am starting to get better with my color choices regardless. I am also currently learning C# for application developing and just finished my inventory application for my uncles shop. I am also great at teaching others what I have learned.
How can you contribute to the group?: As stated above I can utilize my skill set to insure that members of the group receive knowledge that they can utilize later on. I'm a casual person, group members can always ask me for help and be welcomed with open arms without question. With my extensive servers & networks background I feel like I can be a real asset in terms of knowledge when it comes to sharing. My first attempt is to be very mature but after all we are humans and at times snap. I'm a fun joking kind of person and can give lots of fun to the group and lighten the atmosphere.

I usually am not public about helping and mostly either have the person PM me or I PM them / talk through skype etc. I've been planing a few contests but with my summer schedule on vacation things got very tough and I only had access to my phone. Since then school has started, I hope I'll be able to schedule more contests soon!
Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section):
I've been on HF for around 2 years now, almost 3. Within that period of time I've always wanted to achieve a few things, with the start being gain knowledge, but knowledge can't be stopped, even when you think you've learned all there is to know there's always something that you don't know, with that being said another achievement I've wanted to meet was joining two groups. One being 143 ( I love you ) which I was very thankful to be invited into, and the second group being Red Lions. I've always looked upon both groups as being the superior elevated groups ( don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say it in a cocky way ) I viewed both groups as being certain of their way & values without hesitation as well as having the self determination to continue without taking into consideration societies words. All groups ever established have been sold, as far as I know Red Lions is currently the ONLY group on HF that has never been sold. Props to you guys for that!
To date I've applied to around 3 groups on HF, I no longer remember the other two but the latest application that I made was for the Revolution group, which was sold around a year ago? As you can see I have absolutely no interest in groups unless they actually catch my eye, I hold certain groups to certain standards with Red Lions being at the top of pyramid. To break all this down, I simply want to join Red Lions because not only do they stay true to their beliefs they have managed to change the standards of groups on HF while gaining the respect of many HF members such as myself.
How much time can you devote towards group activities: I can devote a large portion of my time without hesitation, I am always browsing HF even if I'm not posting. I will attempt to devote as much time as possible to Red Lions at times this may be 5 - 8 hours but at times this could only be 30 minutes. Life is unpredictable coming home from school late etc. could change the time heavily.
Thanks for reading, I appreciate you taking a look and perhaps even considering me as a candidate. All the best to my fellow candidates!
- Guy.

My guess is that they will keep the recruitment open until they decide to close it, then gather up all the applications and choose from there who will be accepted instead of a "first comes, first gets" approach where they choose as the applications come in.
I was going to create a application but, I'm far too generic to get in.
Yeah I didn't plan on applying to be fair ahah, I just applied for the heck of it :p.
Edit: Just saw the 5 contributions thing, I can't believe I missed it :/. Will be updating my application real soon.
