Most of the time I prefer dubbed over subbed. With that said, I also know the downsides to watching dubbed anime. More so than I would like to admit. The biggest downside being that sometimes the specials, extra episodes, extra seasons, and movies all don't receive dubs. The other biggest downside being that lots of the time the English voice-overs don't resemble/capture the feeling you get from from characters you might have enjoyed in the subbed version. Example: Low pitch male character's voice in the subbed version sounds more medium pitched in the dubbed version, which could make a huge difference when capturing character traits. Very rarely do dubbed versions fully capture what the subbed version entails. And very rarely will a dubbed version sound better. Only few anime like Dragon Ball Z and other 90's/early 2000's classics made that evident.
My reason for choosing dubbed over subbed is simply because English is my native language though. I would much prefer having ANYTHING be done in my native language, even if nowadays it sounds like complete and utter garbage because of the same recycled voice actors.
