[Official] Omnicoin MyBB plugin development

Updated the OP with a link to the Github repo for the plugin (https://github.com/Omnicoin-Project/MyBB-Plugin ). Anyone with MyBB plugin experience, please contact me, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think Omniscient is going to install a plugin that calls file_get_contents on a host completely out of his control. I believe you can do it all with a locally running omnicoind though, or alternatively have Omniscient host his own copy of the API.

I was going to say this also. FileGetContents isn't the most secure or even reliable function to use. Maybe try converting that to Curl (easy change) and find a completely secure way of running it.

I actually already asked omni whether he would like to run a daemon or use an API, and he told us to use an API.
If we want to make this plugin available for all MyBB forums eventually, then it needs to be easy to install and setup, and usable on all forums. So that API is the best solution. Using omnicha.in API does not pose a security risk to HF. We will sort out solutions to issues like that later when the plugin is working.
Anyway, .Matt has modified the plugin so it no longer uses file_get_contents, as he suggested above.

Not to mention cURL vs file_get_contents() can sometimes be a timing difference that's measured in full seconds. file_get_contents is mainly a utility function, that doesn't allow a whole lot of extensibility.

Still here sometimes.
You all should definitely look into Bitcore. It's a bitcoin core developed by Bitpay that would be perfect for this usage.

It supports multiple address versions! Yay :) So it should be pretty perfect.

Yes indeed it does. 🤝

Bitcore.io is such a sexy core. If I were better at programming, I would make a payment processing system with it. 😝

It looks like it could be used to create a wallet à la Blockchain.info, but that's a huge project.

Well, while most great and successful projects are (coughNOMPcough) it claims to be in trial stages and not ready for production use; however, as we know from many great projects, that can mean very little.

Also. Bae. Y u no Skype? 😭

Cool idea, I can't wait to see this actually working!
Good luck, with the plugin!

Sounds good.

Can't wait to see this added.
Thanks for the fantastic update, looking forward to the integration of this MyBB plugin if it is up to par with Omniscient's standards.
An update on progress.
Have a look at our test forum here: http://omnicoinforum.host22.com/index.php to see the progress we are making, and the current state of the plugin. Currently, the viewing of addresses in the profile and the address history is working well. We are now working on the actual function to add addresses to your profile.

PM me for an account because the captchas are broken.

If you find a bug in the plugin, please contact us.
