I don't believe hosting/running a vpn on a server requires anything crazy. I am pretty sure to have a good vpn you mostly just require a good connection 100 up and 50 down or around there and a good amount of bandwidth 150 gb per month should be enough if you don't do anything crazy

According to openvpn doc you should allocate 20Mhz / my of bandwitch you have, if you use SSL.
The RAM will be important if you have alot of connection at once.

Thanks so much to everyone thats taken the time to comment.

I just use the VPS for my VPN that i tunnel threw an Ethernet tool and nothing else as a layer of portable anonymity but take extra precautions if i'm doing anything illegal (like use someone elses network).

I'm going to go for one GB of ram to be safe but take the CPU down (as they charge separately) and focus on bandwidth and see how that works out after reading your posts.

It's so good to see how well informed HF still is and thanks ever so much for the freedom of your info.
