I agree that prestige had become trivial with the recent changes but I seriously hope the reputation requirement is going to be set to a minimum (must have positive reputation for example), and the chief criteria be account age and/or number of posts.

Personally, I used to like the pre-defined titles that would be given to users once they had reached a certain amount of posts - not sure whether this was an HF feature or on another forum.

so like

100 posts = Noob
300 posts = Skid
700 posts = Cracker
1500 posts = Beginner
2100 posts = technician

Something along those lines I guess but obviously, you'd have to come up with some better titles. Maybe if people are earning titles for posting they just see this as reason to shitpost in order to climb through the ranks though so could bite you in the arse I guess.

We have those if you don't use a custom usertitle. But those above examples are not HF usertitles we've used.

I understand the changes, and encourage them.

Problem is I am long time mature member here, and do comment appropriately. (save the odd drunkn Omni pm rant, thankfully still here)
I also give zero fuck about rep. So why am I being restricted where I post?

Edit: I don't do market, so I get that. Under current system as I understand innuendo peeps gonna get meaningless rep regardless. I do know C Rusty af, and the others, this makes no sense to me. Where I can contribute, I will but not based on rep.

Wether you care or rep or not, the rest of the community will rep you based on your actions.

For example if your total rep is - , you’re likely an asshole or troll and don’t deserve to get access to other sections.

The fact that you care about rep or not doesn’t really change that right?

And if you’re a valuable member, wether you care about rep or not, you’ll likely have plenty of it. It’s just a reaction members have to posts.

The idea that no one cares about rep is BS. Look how everyone reacted when Omni restarted the rep points. But just a week before, the general consensus was that no one on the entire forum seemed to care about rep (supposedly). But it was just the cool thing to say.
