[Tut] How to speed up your iDevice [Speed Intensifier] [Fakeclockup]

These tweaks in Cydia will make it seem like your iDevice goes faster. They load applications/messages/pop ups really fast. They don't speed up the actual performance of it, but it really makes it seem like it does.

Speed Intensifier:Spoiler (Click to View)

Step 1
Open Cydia and add this source: http://repo.insanelyi.com
(to add the source, go to manage, then source, click on edit, then add.)

Step 2
Browse that source. Look for either Speed Intensifier or Fakeclockup and install it. I use Speed Intensifier. I don't know the difference, apparently, they are very similar.

Step 3
Go to Settings and find the tweak you downloaded. Set it to whatever speed you want.

Step 4
Respring or reboot your iDevice.

Enjoy the faster speeds of you iDevice!

You might not want to set it all the way up. Some people think it's just too fast and buggy. Although I have mine set all the way up.

I usually won't do a tutorial over something that is as simple as downloading something from Cydia. But I searched these app names here and I got no results so I figured it would be useful for the people wanting to speed up their iDevice.

If you have any other iDevice relating problems, questions, or want to request any tutorials that aren't already in here or easy to find on google, comment/PM me and I'll help the best I can.
Wasn't this released like 3 weeks ago? I tried it out and didn't like it a bit. Makes your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad seem brain dead. This doesn't speed up the apps. Just speeds up the processes to go to the apps. Such as double clicking the home button which will make the multitasking menu pop up. Using Speed Intensifier will increase the speed it pops up.
Thanks for the share Ill give it a try.

I'm not sure when it was released. I got it a couple weeks ago. I searched here and no threads feature this and I personally like it.

Yeah, I kinda said it didn't;

You're welcome. Please post results whether you like it or not.

That didn't state anything about speeding the apps or not speeding the apps like i suggested. Repo also doesn't add for me. Unsure why. Also, it speeds up the performance of springboard loadings, messages, etc. What it doesn't do is speed up the actual APPs you're using. Sort of like a modifier manipulating the SB's speed. I personally wouldn't suggest adding this app because in theory, it'd slow your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. Reason? Try a few different maneuvers with SI and FC and for the time being, disable all your other mobile substrates. If you then put it in safe mode and test the same maneuvers you just did. You'll notice a huge difference in terms of speed.

It DOES speed up the animation/frames of each image and process but it doesn't actually somewhat speed it up. Just because the animation is slow without it doesn't mean it's not there yet. It's too complex to explain but i personally wouldn't suggest it. The speed difference isn't much. Maybe a half a second but to me, i really don't need my notifications popping up faster.
Yeah, I now notice that, in the first quote you posted of me, I mistyped by saying "people wanting to speed up their idevice" it was kinda late at night :P
And when I repeated "they don't speed up the actual performance of it" I meant the whole idevice in general along with applications and the speed of those applications. I know it doesn't speed up applications, just the launching.

But anyways, thank you for being very detailed about it. I personally don't notice a speed difference but maybe that's just because I have an iP4. For those that do notice a lag in speed, don't crank it up so high. Make it speed up by a more realistic speed.
Well it's really not how high you turn the modifier that lags it. There's some RAM difference from iPhone models and iPod Touch Models (215mb ram, 512mb ram) but RAM doesn't really play a huge part in terms on processing. RAM is more rather like a basket, holding the content.

Like i said, when a notification pops up, it was made to pop up that slow. So as soon as frame 1 starts, it's really already there. Using speed intensifier would only speed the frames per second so it would go really fast. So in logical terms, a regular notification is "ALREADY THERE" but with extra animations to make it look sweet. With Speed Intensifier, it's "ALREADY THERE" but with the frames speeded.

Wayyy too hard to explain, even to understand it myself. It's like blowing (no relation to blowjob :P)... If i blow at a regular pace, i'll just blow. If i blow at a fast pace, i'll blow fast. The difference is one ENDS earlier. They both START at the same time. That's why in theory, it doesn't speed up anything.
Thanks for taking the time to explain all of that. It makes sense what you are saying, except that, why WOULDN'T you want the end result to end earlier/faster? And you can't say "in theory, it doesn't speed up anything" because you even said earlier that it was the frames getting speeded up. And of course they both start at the same time. Its not going to retrieve a message or pop up that hadn't even been sent/processed. :P
Thanks, going to try it once my touch finishes charging. But, the fact that one of them is has "clockup" in the name, makes me think about the processor and overclocking. So, either one of these apps should speed up the device, but also the time it takes the battery to drain, lol! Thanks again.
Actually, I found out, it only speeds up the UI transitions, which, overall does make it faster. I use "4", cause "10" is blazing fast, lol! But yeah, thanks for sharing this. I love it.

No problem! Glad you like it.
personally i dont really like it however i can see a difference fnx for the shear.
Very nice! Just installed on my iphone and its fucking fast!

Yeah I know! I had my friends phone the other day and I was like, "Why is this SO slow." lol. :P
