Cain and abel error. Sniffer must be activated

Hey guys im having some issuse's with cain and abel. When ever i go to the sniffer and press the blue cross it says "Sniffer must be activated!"
How do i activate it?

Btw im using it to pull xbl ips thanks for helping

The activate sniffer button is located just below the file menu to the left of the symbol that looks like a radioactive sign (arp poisoning button). its the one that looks like a printed circuit board. hope this helps.

i remember a while back i had issues with the sniffer program on cain and the only thing that would fix it was reinstalling my OS. Im sure theres a way to fix it without doing that but it was easy reguardless. let me know how you get it working.

You realize this thread is from 2011 right retard? Use commview, not fucking can & abel. You likely have a problem with what driver you're selecting, or your hardware may not be compatible. Good luck faggot
