Lol. It's not like this type of typography is super hard to achieve. The "Tiny Text Tip" is pretty much a complete rip on blanes typo style. Considering he was using it in 07-11.
Edit: So it doesn't look like im completely flaming you. Good tutorial, despite what I said above. Nice ways of explaining of. :P (Apr 10, 2011 09:03 AM)iRxOneShoto Wrote: Lol. It's not, that's why I made the tutorial. And I've been using that since 08 or so, before I'd ever even heard of Blane, or seen his work. Looking at your artwork in this thread, and a few others I managed to find, I'd predict that, if you did do graphics in 08, you have barely progressed at all. I take back what I said in my previous post - for the most part. Blanes typography style resembled the one demonstrated in your tutorial, about 2 years ago. While he still uses it, its turn more into a generic style. His personal typography style has evolved into something that a very few number of people can do. I'm not here to argue, just point out a few things. (Apr 10, 2011 10:32 AM)iRxOneShoto Wrote: No offence, but I highly doubt that. Iv'e seen people go from Novice to Professional in about a year. If you firmly believe people go from Novice to pro in a year, I'd love to see your definition of Professional. I don't do graphics full time at all, but saying I've barely progressed since when I first started is a downright insult. You haven't seen my better work, as most of the artwork in this thread is old and solely used to demonstrate text and text placement. I'd appreciate you not randomly coming into a thread intended to help new artists and flaming & criticizing me. He went from following Cinema 4D tutorials to being one of the best independent Cinema 4D designers I've ever seen in about a year. I realize that the tags you provided in this thread are old, thats why I took the liberty and searched through your other threads, looking for more recent work. I recall mentioning how you wrote the tutorial in a great way, and including a good job in my first post in this thread. What's wrong with a little criticism? It only shows the flaws in your work, and gives you motive to improve. Getting a ton of "Great Jobs!". Won't help someone improve, not one bit. By me posting in this thread you could later come up with your own style of typography, that surpasses anything I could even dream of. And I may have overreacted, I may have come off as not taking it well but I actually look for criticism. I don't post work here anymore because that's usually what I get, a bunch of Great jobs with maybe a tip or two. I admit myself that I'm not a great artist. Maybe in terms of this forum I'm one of the better, but I haven't dedicated near the amount of time necessary (nor the consistency) to become a great artist. fmacmanus is quite inspirational though, I may take up C4D solely because of that. |
