Okay so I really enjoyed the show. Watched all 37 episodes over a period of a week. One of the best I have watched so far. Although, I did not like the death of L and the addition of Near. Seemed like a desperate attempt to please the fans who missed L maybe. I also thought the Mello character was retarded and so was the chocolate eating shit. I didn't like that at all.
I also thought the ending was quite lame. Although not sure What else they could of done with it. Would of preferred L stay in the show and then defeat Light at the end. I think L deserved the true credit and was always smarter. Near just got the edge luckily near the end with Mellos help.
I also didn't like around episode 20+ the appearance of Ryuk started fading. Ryuk was a big part of the show and I feel like they left Ryuk out towards the end of the show.
I am pleased that Light was defeated in the end. But I was not pleased by who and think they could of done something different.
Anyways I have many more thoughts and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Anyone elses thoughts?

I liked L dying just for the plot having a major change about.
Mello ate chocolate imo because Near and himself were two different parts of L's persona in a sense. N loved puzzles and M loved candy.
If you read the manga it turns out that Near actually won by cheating.
He used to Death Note he had to control Mikami, which is something L would have never done.
I believe that L was superior to N and M combined.

I was so frustrated when L died I just stopped watching Death Note. L was so a big part of the plot and actually kept it interesting IMO.

Yea I know how you feel. He was also my favorite character.
Light should of won.
I was with him the whole show.

Terrible ending
I thought that the series should've either ended with L's death or just left out N+M and continued with Light's progress. L's death was something worked up to for half the series and then some new people come in. It felt prolonged and unnecessary.
I didn't mind L dieing, as it added quite a good twist into the story. Although I really didn't like N or Mello, they both irritated me.
I just wish they killed off Misa, as she irritated the hell out of me half the time, but then again it wouldn't of been the same without her there.
Death note will always be one of my favorite Anime, and its the only anime I have purchased the DVDs for.

Yeah Misa was quite annoying, not as much as Orihime lol
This is one of the best animes out there I wish they wouldnt have ended it so fast

It couldn't of gone that much further to be honest, I saw an alternative ending with is probably fake but it is awesome. Ill get it if some you want to see it
