Regarding Password Changes

I just got logged off, then I went to retype my new 10digit password and it said its invalid. then I had to repeat the process of resetting. :O whats going on! hope its fixed soon!

My password is always the one i get in the email :D
I have reset my passes... :)
Thanks for keeping us all informed Omni. I have taken the steps to reset mine.

A quick question tho, what will happen to those who are away/vacating? Will they still be able to remain secure? (excluding locked/banned accounts as they have been locked after applying for vacation)

Thanks again Omni,

T~

Almost everyone I neg rep gets perma banned
No troll i'm about to hash my password :/ Is it smart to hash your original password than use your hash as a password?
When can we remove the announcement? It's annoying. Can we click it away like a PM?
In a droll sense, glad to see nothing has changed in my absence.
Just checked the file, found my name. :O

What you're saying is (if I'm thinking this through correctly) is similar to a salt. You'd just be hashing a hash (nothing wrong with that). Sure, it would be more secure. If you don't understand how salts work, here's an example of one scenario:

salt: *&^
dog --> 06d80eb0c50b49a509b49f2424e8c805
plus salt: 06d80eb0c50b49a509b49f2424e8c805*&^ --> 88516b43fa9acc936a5d601d9f875216

And... there's our new encrypted hash. But, what you said is a somewhat similar idea. I hope that this helps.

Cheers!
thanks i changed my password to password. how secure is that?
