"Post here and PM me to recive this guide"

I don't think we should allow people to require a post in the thread in order to get a guide. It's a bad trend, since after a while all of us guide writers will have to do it in order to get our guide equally promoted.

Simply requiring a PM in order to get the guide is okay, but not requiring someone to bump their thread aswell.

Thoughts?

I personally disagree with this simply because it is also nice to have the thread ed once in a while. If its not ed you have to wait 24h to post meaning people will only see your guide for 5-10 minutes a day while its on the front page. (unless they go through all the other pages which i doubt most people do.)

Just my thoughts on it.
Make a ebook yourself, see the amount of views you get / downloads vs post and then come back.
The point is that people do this so that their thread will get BUMP'ed. When everyone does it it defeats the purpose.

I see it as a waste of DB space. People should just stick to posting to get it if they are concerned about b umping.
Are there any more thoughts on this?

I have to disagree with you, the posting keeps the thread alive allowing more people to see it.

Yet again, it keeps the threads where people require a post alive, but the others will die since they are falling back on pages.

What gives some people the right to give their guides higher priority than others?

If you say only PM me the thread won't get ed and be old very fast.
I prefer the "post here and I'll PM you". It keeps the thread b0mped and the people even say "thanks".
Well if you are so interested in the content of which the thread starter is giving away then why not do it as he proposes it to be, Post and Pm'ing him. If you do not like it and such you are requested to navigate away from the thread to another one, which wouldn't be hard for you.

It doesn't seem like you understand my point. As a guide writer, I like having my work appreciated also, but these requirements to post there becomes useless.

Then their thread would be at the 20th page if nobody ed it.

and you're getting something for FREE, are you that lazy to post then PM someone? If you are, you don't deserve a free item.
I only make the people post to keep the thread alive it would die within days without those kind of methods
I can see what you mean. I totally understand you, but i am not really sure about i think it's a good idea.
