The driver was probably upset with that kid throwing the rocks at him. But, he didn't have to be that angry and run over the kid.. Could've just gotten out of the car, and give him the modern day back hand slap across the face would be enough.. but that's what I think.

I wouldn't get out of the car when people are throwing rocks at me. Even that adult threw a few rocks after he was leaving. The kid basically ran toward the car so it's partly his fault.
