Staff please leave this thread. Part of a deal with him to get JD his accounts back. This is something we can't really hide anyways.

These things happen. It's unfortunate but it does. At some level JD's account was stolen. As OP stated...I noticed almost immediately. No harm was done and OP really didn't have time to do anything. I don't think he made even one staff action.

But I'm more concerned about JD than HF right now. I'm helping him secure everything.

It was either a reset email or Dredd goof'd and got infected some how.

Everyone is well known about the fact that whenever there a higher level account compromised , the person was not given back the position for instance the recent Rusty case.

The fact of the matter is, if you didn't change the email your HF account is linked to since the last DB leak, this could happen to you.
We've seen over the past few months it's not impossible to reset someone's email password.

LOL, HF really needs to tighten security :)

It was HF's tight security that flagged the theft within minutes and stopped any damage he might have caused.

An admin account was compromised and not one member was effected.

It's going to get out. I'm always honest with members even if it's embarassing. I asked JD for permission though before allowing this post.

But I'll let JD speak for himself on how he feels about this and what happened. It's up to him to talk about it not me.

I'm a bit pissed though that Omniscient cares more about an account holder than his entire website.

What are you talking about? My first concern was locking out the account so no damage could be done to HF.

I'd be more impressed if you hacked Omni, or gained access to the admin panel.

Not that I can't be hacked but I have layers of safety measures and deep security. Even if someone did manage to compromise a layer I can quickly regain it. I personally know the people who work at the companies I would need to recover everything. It's like trying to claim a kid is yours in front of their parents and grandparents. I'd make a call and get it all back. I keep a lot of things offline and hidden too. Heck I even have backups outside of my house just in case I have a fire or some other catastrophe.

Oh and OP has another account. He's trying to hide but I already know who he is.

Staff is different from an Admin, and the job that Dredd does here would go unmatched by anyone else, love him or hate him, he deals with a lot of shit.
