bugs/missing features after 5 min of use

1: the settings tabs doesn't do anything…
2: the pass.rec tab make the client disconnect on a refresh request
3: is the picture preview missing in this file explorer ?
4: you can select multiple files in file explorer, but when you do a right mouse click and select download it will only download one file…
5: in fileexplorer downloading directory give an exception, and the software does nothing
6: the program NEED to save the password and the port ! and also start listening automatically… it is a nonsense to do this a each start
7: the password field should also be showing stars…. (to avoid people seeing the password)
8 the file transfer is HORRIBLE SLOW…. copying an image that is 103KB big on a test install LOCALY (server and client on the same machine) took more than 8 seconds… whereas this task should take about 50ms...
9: asking where to save the files is useless, it will only make people feels like idiots … ok when you do it once or twice a day its not a big deal… but for people copying lot of files this is a total nonsense ….
10: the Drive size should be in KB or MB…. showing the size in B is taking a lot of space…
11: the type column on the file explorer is useless, people see the difference on the icon type… here it would be better to show the creation date or modification date
12: double click on a file in file explorer should download the file for example
13: there is no ability to rename a server... so if i rat something interesting, i need to remember the username + machine name :(

hope to see all (or most) of this bugs/feature correct soon

nice work by the way... but i wan't use it as main rat right now, there are too many things that will make me go crazy if i use it for a daily use...

The crashes from v4 are gone :)
Going to play around with it some more tomorrow, tho alain is bringing up some good points.

You should however remember that this is the first revision of the totally recoded version.
Its a great base and im sure that modesty will improve upon it greatly.

It doesn't crash and is way more stable than v3-4.
Imo if the 13 points are corrected in next release, it would be an awesome rat.

but it is the only rat i know where
1: i need to write my settings (port + password) on each start
2: i need to download one file at the time and each time tell the software where to save them, even free rats do better... i have the Feeling to use V1-V2 again :( for the file explorer
3: needing to wait 8 seconds to transfer a 100KB file localy is a BIG problem.... if it is slow without using internet... it would be even worse when i'll try to download a file from an other country...
4: picture preview was an awesome feature... not it isn't there anymore, that is also a regression (too bad, cause this feature was a big PLUS)

so ok its a lot more stable that v3-4, but some good feature are no more present....

so in my opinion V5 has indeed a great potential for an upcoming update...
but it is not awesome, at least not now

Alain57 I do understand about the picture preview however that is a huge amount of work and I wanted to get this out to you ASAP. I realised that a compromise was required, I couldn't include EVERYTHING. However, now that this is all over and done with, I can start refining and adding in these extra features. I'll release a revision ASAP that'll consist of all your points and hope to make you and rest of customers happy people.

Btw the file transfer is optimized for when you're dealing with thousands of clients, and on a Wide Area Network (global), therefore it isn't AS fast as you'd expect locally, however it is stable. I can make this optimization optional.

And the settings button does work, just gotta wait a few seconds for it to show up sometimes. I'm sorry about the little lag times when opening up the forms such as about, settings and client creation...but i compromised this for the extra protection.

ohh i suggest everyone buys this rat. The inbuilt crypter is 1/37 and is very good!
