I'm almost 100% sure that this has been posted before, but it needs the attention. I, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this opinion, am tired of all of these 1-50 post noobs selling things in the Marketplace. I think that the forum should place a post count limit on this. Atleast 50 posts, and anyone under this, would have to pay say $5 for a thread in there. I think that that is fair, it will reduce scamming/pointless threads and it could possibly give the forum more income. Post with your feedback. If your post is going to be something like, ALREADY POSTED, or things like that, read the first sentence in this thread, then don't post. Thanks.
Still, w/o that idea, it still would be a good idea for a post need.
Agree.. I dont think someone would pay for a thread + if it was so, that you had to have 50 post count to post then everyone would spam their accounts up to 50 posts then start using the service.. So i dont think its a good idea.. Sorry.
Hell is not a place you go, if you not a Christian,
It's the failure of your life's greatest ambition.
Putting a post limit will just cause people to spam until they can post there. Omni says no to all post limit ideas.
Also, like I said before: User group, rep, post count etc do not define if someone will scam or not scam. The only thing you can trust is their personality.
I imo a "Seller" group should be made, with a cost of $5-$10 you are allowed to make threads in the sellers section, if you're not in the group, you can only reply.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
No one can be 100% trusted on this forum. With the exception of Omni/iBF. Classic example would be Vaqxine, former staff member. He scammed people.

Why not just ignore buying from sellers that are not l33t or ub3r though? Certainly buyers have a responsibility to decide wisely who they are buying from. No matter what criteria I create to stop scammers it won't stop them.

Yea why should you make things more complicated for him. Just use your common sense. If he has less posts and any other previous scam reports do not trade and at the very least do not go first and have him pay with something other then paypal.
People always fail to realize that 99 percent of the time when people get scammed its because they didnt use common sense.
Yeah , paying for threads wouldn't be very convient for anyone. Although , it might help with the current problem , it might actually create more in the end.

Of course, you could do that, but by restricting all sales to people who have paid, even a small amount it would reduce scams, it's like a down payment, if you don't scam, you will quickly earn your $5 back, and as you have to be subscribed, there is less competition, so you earn even more. However if you're here just to scam, you will lose your down payment in the form of a ban rather fast.
Just because I disagree with something doesn't mean you have to be accusatory... I was just offering my opinion.

If you do that they will just pay the $5. Scam $20 and make $15 profit. Make a new account, pay $5 again, scam some more and make profit.
That's why a lot of scammers buy hf l33t (People think l33t are more trustable). How it is now is fine. Just trust people that you think should be trusted, don't go by user groups/post count/rep/etc.
I like anyone that has l33t or ub3r, os a s3113r group could sell. That sounds fair to me.. s3113r group at $5

No.
simply no.
That's just all bad, since HF does not encourage trading, it just happens to have marketplace.
trade at your own risk.

Actually I think people don't listen to their common sense in favor of greed. They might have something for sale at $20 and decide to take all the risks and sell to people they know are risky. They just hope nothing goes wrong. When it does they cry about it.
When I get payments I don't trust...I don't upgrade the member. This is why all upgrades are now done manually. That's not to say that chargebacks don't occur. On a site like this it's just bound to happen. I just think they are from parents finding out or assholes that just like to chargeback. The amount of fraud payments has been greatly reduced since I buckled down. Paypal sucks since you often don't get enough information about the buyer. I get a billing address and an IP to check against it.
Sellers needs to express caution. If you think someone isn't a good buyer then you don't sell to them. It's that simple.
How many here take place in marketplace and actually tell buyers "no deal"?
