Paint as first programming language? |

Wtf can't believe it :D No it's not fake. Nor is it complicated once you understand how bitmaps are formatted. This is a pretty good blog post explaining how it works. <Disease />

It is real, because everything is understood by computers in a binary form, so Paint might using stupid characters like this?
Or....Spoiler (Click to View) But it's possible. You guys got trolled. Not saying this isn't possible. I goggled to try and see about this language and found nothing. Your comment isn't true. Just because something is binary dosen't mean every machine understands that binary code that is why binary for a Intel based system can't be runned in a Arm based computer system. I knew this was fake at the start but had to google to make sure before posting. Since I know in theory this is possible. Yet, never heard paint can do this and so far never seen any documentation online. (Mar 26, 2012 11:12 PM)tinkerman2000 Wrote: No this isn't real. You guys got trolled. It's all up to how you interpret that data. Now while this may actually be fake (I have no idea), it is absolutely possible to do. I made a language that made use of bitmap images ages ago, just for a bit of fun. (Mar 26, 2012 11:12 PM)tinkerman2000 Wrote: No this isn't real. You guys got trolled. Not saying this isn't possible. I just wanted to correct anyone that thinks if you have something in binary it automatically means all programs or even the computer machine itself will understand it. Since I played around building my own circuits and even my own 4-bit cpu and 32bit cpu. I can say that I understand the basic concepts of a computer system. I got many books on the subject and topic. So yes, you make your own language or even a structure of data of a file. like for example. I seen many video games use the .dat to indicate it's a data file. however just because all games that I seen uses a .dat dosen't mean that those .dat files structures are the exact same structure for all games. people quickly would think if it's a .dat file for like these 6 games then these 6 games can use these files interchangeability. So for those 6 games using .dat files it all boils down to interpertation. They can be all 6 different types or structured .dat files but if all the games can understand each type or kind of structure of their own .dat file then yes each of those 6 games can run each others files... yet if it only knows about their own structure then no they can't run each others files. I am just trying to not let people get mislead to think that if the file is a .bin file you can run this file on any system or even put it on a smart card chip. In theory you can but the data may not be understood by the system and therefor won't work or run properly. So, yes like I said in my previous post that this isn't impossible. I am sure anyone here can make something similar if they wanted too. It's possible but from what I see and hear. I never seen anything on the net that indicates or provides facts towards that would support his videos information is legit. bottomy: you understood my posting. I hope I didn't misled or confused anyone. Yet, that is why I said this is fake and most likely a person trolling everyone. Yet, not doubting that it's not possible. since I know it can be achieved. Your Title says Paint as first programming language. I watched the video. There are other videos on the net showing using paint you can easily write python code by using colors. Those were proven to be fake. So I ask you this question how exactly is he taking colors in paint and converting them to c++. Ya, I know it's in C++ but what is that stuff at the start? If you called me an idiot. You should have something to back it up with. So I assume you can do this and you understand how it works 100%. from what I see he might be using white space programming language. Also you can't directly just paint a bitmap and then save it and it automatically is converted into C++ source code. Something in between has to translate the paint bitmap to convert that bitmap data into a c++ source code file. whitespace programming language look it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitespace_...anguage%29 I shared my opinion and thoughts about the subject. I would say it be stupid of you to call someone that you don't even know an idiot. Your title of the thread says paint beginners programming language. From your comment yous saying that the guy just drew a bitmap and it automatically magically turned that bitmap into a c++ source file creating the application of hello world to be printed to screen. I ask you how is it done and notice how this video dosen't at all show the button task bar. So if this was legit he would have a full screen shot. Why not show the bottom of the screen. if he is using whitespace programming language then what your saying isn't true. That means he would create the bitmap in a way that whitespace programming would understand... then convert the bitmap into c++ source. This is the only thing I can think of. not saying I am write. I am just saying that so far OP and that blog isn't exactly explaining how this guy did this. Plus dosen't show the whole screen. Doesn't show the bottom part of the screen to show him opening the file. I am just saying he might be using a spin off from whitespace programming language. However, I can't confirm that. Just saying videos like these that show you something and then after can't full explain it in terms that makes it sense able. Actually as long as you can save the image as pure (so not a specific format, since that will usually contain other data) uncompressed bitmap data from whatever image editor you're using. Then you could pick the colours whose bytes corresponds to ascii characters.

"The pixel array is a block of 32-bit DWORDs, that describes the image pixel by pixel. Normally pixels are stored "upside-down" with respect to normal image raster scan order, starting in the lower left corner, going from left to right, and then row by row from the bottom to the top of the image.[1]
Uncompressed Windows bitmaps also can be stored from the top to bottom, when the Image Height value is negative." @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMP_file_fo...el_storage So he just selects color values found within ASCII character visible range and Notepad shows that as visible ASCII text. Nothing magical. And its possible too.. IT'S NOT A FAKE DID IT BY MYSELF: HELLO, WORLD! string multiple times in 24-bit BMP created in MS paint. Code 72 69 76 76 79 32 87 79 82 76 68 33Created 32 x 1 pixel BMP. Use custom color feature and for first pixel set R 76 G 69 B 72 and so on for other pixels. Note that color values in pixel are reversed! Bitmap file: http://www.mediafire.com/i/?0ls0bflpr7azqca Viewed: |
