Calculated 1.000.000.000 prime numbers with my own program.

Yes, I know this is odd, but I am so proud of it. I made a program that can calculate prime numbers up to a specific number. I had to make an own method of pseudo-boolean-arrays for it as the normal ones use an integer and not a long as index. It took about 4 hours to calculate them all and used like 1.5 GB ram all the time.
I guess when you reach the prime number that's not reached by others, you get paid some big money. I know this because this was on my listening exam, so I guess it's true.

Good luck.

That would be really really hard, first because my computer doesnt have enough memory so i would have to use some kind of file temporary storage, second because supercomputers are calculating primes with a similar method :D
Just go steal one of Japan's super computers, then duplicate it using the Tool Gun, then get that damn number!
Joking, but you would need a lot more computing power to get the highest number recorded.
trust no one

Exactly. Another problem is the method, it is the sieve of eratosthenes, so I actually need to start with two and have all numbers in memory all the time.
what you are trying to do is solving the rhieman's hypothesis
finding a method to identify all the prime numbers will bring you $1 million
I also wanted to try this but my math level isn't high enough so good luck to you:)

I am not going to try that, I am quite good at maths but there are many many people that are trying / tried it before that are much better than me.
So your bragging that you wasted 4 hours and 1.5gb of ram on a program that has no useful purpose to you.

:D thats what this section is for in my opinion. additionally I just calculated that this is a prime number:

well if you can find the nth term of prime numbers i guarantee you you'll be so much richer and well known :)

Well done. They do pay hideous bux for the highest prime numbers...
