Rhythm used to be my go-to-group. I thought it was the only group I'd be able to connect with. Well, that has changed. The Logic forum is my new favorite forum on HackForums. I love Music more than Debate, but Hexicidal really makes this group what it is, it is far more organized and of higher quality than any other group I've ever been in.
To anyone interested in intellectual discussion of any kind... The harsh recruitment is worth it. I got in through recruitment myself. Took me almost an hour to collect my thoughts, but I think I got the better end of the deal after being allowed to join. It's a truly inspiring group, and I sincerely encourage you to attempt the recruitment, even if it does take a good while. Some tips on getting in: 1) Unique ideas and questions. If this is anything like the other recruitment threads, you will have to ask yourself your own questions. Scroll through the thread, and it will become apparent as to which questions are common. The best way to set your self apart from everyone else is to make sure both your questions and answers are unique, and haven't been used prior in the recruitment thread. 2) Size your responses appropriately. By this, I don't mean a huge size font. If anything a huge font would make you less likely to get in. What I mean is, you want to make sure your responses aren't , but not too long either. Logic focuses on quality over quantity. Two to three paragraphs with 4-5 sentences each would be a good estimation on how much to write per question. If you write more, just make sure everything you write is specific and not vague. Logic would rather see 2 paragraphs of intriguing thought, then 5 paragraphs of meaningless prattle. 3) Write formally. Double check your application, make sure there are no spelling/grammar mistakes. Avoid first-person pronouns, and look for substitutes whenever you feel you must use one (Try your best with this one... I broke that rule quite a bit, and I'm extremely lucky to get in even with my 50 million "you"s in my application). Even if your ideas are amazing, if you can't portray them well through your writing, they do you no good. Also make sure to add sources if you have any, and do NOT copypasta your entire application. Other good ideas would be to look through the other recruitment threads, and look at the accepted applications. Most of them are a good example for what is wanted to get in. Here was mine if you are interested: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id25304071 Hope this helps! This can apply to recruiting for other groups as well, but I wrote this little guide with Logic in mind! <3 |
