One, why do you ask? I had to remove my second as it had bad sectors causing me to blue screen.

As always, you are very helpful Perfect Cell. This tutorial is certainly easier to follow than some others you might find when looking for help.
nice tutorials !
for runing vmware in windowns you must need at least 4 gb ram to run both vmwork station and your host pc.

Glad you made it, I was going to do it, but due to time constraints I was unable to.

Very nicely done.

Good work buddy. Would be nice, if you could ask a moderator to place your thread up on the top, like a stickie.

So that it doesn't get buried and forgotten.

Xch4ng3 has his one but if you really think that way, contact a member of staff and recommend it :D

Security wise I would recommend NAT configuration instead of bridged with purpose to isolate potential spread over the network to real hosts.

Also, you can remove floppy drive and printer from list of hardware. Sound card can be removed too but some people use sound even on VMs. There is also option to have your hard drive split or save as a single image or use a physical one. For Windows XP, it is better to go with 512MB of RAM in case if you want to run any kind software that is not part of Windows.

One more thing, I have VMWare 8 and never had to go to BIOS to change Boot priority. By default, it will boot of CD/DVD or ISO if system partition is not found.

Thanks for all of this, but this is how I have always been doing it and I thought it would be better to go with this since it was a simple guide line nothing more, none the less thanks for showing an interest and pointing these out

You did a good job by taking step by step and through custom configuration. It is just so many people here are running or want to run not safe software that it is better to be safe than sorry.

I hope it will become a sticky.
