[Tutorial] Text inside of Text

So this is a very basic tutorial and this style really is not that hard. In this tutorial I will be showing you how to Put text inside of text. Bascially meaning your text will be made out of other words. (see example of finished product below)

Finished Product

Let's get started
First we will need to create a new document in Photoshop. The document I will be using is 400px by 400px.

Next go ahead and set your back ground to any color you wish. I am going to do a circular Gradient of black and grey with some text in the background just for effect.

Let's go ahead and now create our word (or letters) that we will want the text inside of. Make sure you use a font style that you like. This is roughly how your finished product will look.

Next we will need to type of the words we want inside the letters. I am going to use "This is a Tutorial" ina Vijaya font 12pt in size. Then I will type this over and over again until we have enough to cover our letters "HF".

Now we will need to hide the text layer we just made. Select the Big letters "HF" and press your paint brush tool (you can just press the letter 'B' on your keyboard). Next you will need to select the whole layer so go ahead and press CTRL+A / apple+a. Now click anywhere on your layer and a error window will pop up. Click the OK button

Now select your Move Tool (or press 'V' on your keyboard).

Doing so should now of selected your big letters and should look similar to this:

Lets now hide the big letters by clicking the eye next to the layer in the layers list.

Now select your small text layer in my case the "this is a tutorial" layer. Press B on your cutting board and click in the image again. You should get the same error as earlier. Click OK.

Now our outline of the big text layer should still be there. While our small text layer is selected press ctrl+C, then ctrl+V. This should have created a new layer and a duplicate of the small text in the shape of our big letters. Hide your small letters layer and your document should look similar to mine.

Now if you want to have a stroke around your big letters you will have to select your big letters layer and repeat the steps from before to select the letters. Then you can create a new layer Ctrl+N. Then goto edit>Stroke> and set the stroke setting to your liking and hit ok.

With your stroke layer you can add an outer glow or other effects to get your text to be more clear.

This is my first Tutorial so sorry for any confusion. If you have questions feel free to ask and I will try to help you out.

Good tutorial. Can you make a Video from then?

that background is using a radial gradient from center, to the top left corner. With I believe the grey code was close to: #242424 and black black. Then the text is white text and i played with the fill and opacity.

It basically is. Just another form of doing it.

If I had a good screen recorder I would. I don't mind.
