Well thats a nuisance for people that regularly use their webcams for Skype and OOVOO. Or even a better solution. Duct tape.

I am serious when I say you can opt to use an adhesive bandage instead to not damage the device.
That's exactly what I do now. I only enable it when I have to chat on skype.
I was under the impression that if the light beside your webcam was not on, your cam was not in use.

I would not recommend Duct Tape, but I do recommend electric tape. I put it on my laptop webcam (When I get on it) and no residue is left on it.

On certain webcams light can be disabled, while the camera will stay on.
it is a scary thought that we need to 'bandage' our webcams.
I've stuck a piece of electrical tape there, surefire solution.
I just do what Para said, it is simple and easy. Then again I never really use my webcam.

My dad's Asus laptop lets him just slide a cover over it. Beats duct tape and disabling the webcam.

These should be standard for all webcams, IMHO.

Yes, that is the best one could do if they are a regular user of Skype. I too use it that way! 😁
Or you could put tape on it which takes much less effort. Uhmm Brb
