How old the school buildings depend on school.

Yes, All students change indoor shoes at school entrance. Each student has their own shoe rack(Google "下駄箱 <getabako>")

This is totally off topic. In highschool and middle school, its kinda tradition that girls give chocolate to boys they like on Valentines day.

When those girls are too shy to give chocolate and say she likes him, they put it with a letter in the shoe rack. (I think this event has been described in lots of anime especially the ones involve love stories)

on the other hand, it sucks for a lot of guys because its pretty clear how popular you are amoung girls :)

One more off topic, the day boys return CANDY to girls is called "White day" which is March 14th.

I can answer more about school if you be more specific :)

Omg hahaha, this is exactly what I was watching to learn how to cook! The Japanese guy's accent is so funny(I hope I dont sound like that)but this lady is awesome at cooking and this channel is great.

If you follow the steps carefully with this channel, you can make really good Japanese food I promise :)

Well, I did do some primary education in asia, so I kind of know what it's like.
What about festivals and stuff? Are they quite similar to how it's portrayed in anime as well? (One I hear a lot is Natsumatsuri)

Also, what's the opinions of Jap people on Anime?

Is it true that in japan:
*asymmetrical teeth are hot?
*Pubic hair is in / hot?
Since Japan currently has the lowest crime rate in the World, I was wondering about the Yakuza and Motorcycle Gangs.
Do they appear on the News for violent crimes and drug busts often?
How hard is it to learn the Basic kanji for the locals?

How are actually the youngsters in Japan? Are they idiot like some of the western people? (I'm only 16 but those in my generation are so fucked up.) Well, generally how are they? Following the fashion , buying the last iphone, fucking at 13yo etc etc.
Whats with the Japanese thinking Americans love hot dogs haha? I get the other stereotypes, but again, i was talking with my friend from Japan and he was telling me what japanese think of americans. I didn't know we loved hot dogs that much hahah :P
Didn't think there was that many japanese people on HF! Do you live in japan and if so, where? I'm japanese too and i used to live in yokohama but i can't exactly remember where in it though.
I heard there is almost no vandalism in Japan. Is that true?

Do girls really get raped on trains?

LOL

Maybe not raped, but when the trains are full, some of them probably get touched a lot.
However this probably happens in other countries as well.

Sorry, but I want to put additional explanation as much as I can for the people who dont understand Asian culture very well on this thread.
So please allow me to do that even though its your question:)

I am sure 夏祭り <Natsumatsuri> (which means summer festival) is just like how its described in most of anime.

Also its really popular thing to go with your bf/gf to go there amoung especially young people.

People wear 浴衣<yukata>(it looks similar to 着物<kimono> but its not as thick, also a lot cheaper and more wearable)

Also, its very common to have 金魚すくい<Kingyo sukui> which is goldfish scooping at natsumatsuri.

Also, you see 屋台(open-air stall) all over natsumatsuri.

You can get delicious food from them.

By the way, its kind of unknown that the money these stall earn become yakuza's money. (It doesn't mean all the sellers are yakuza or yakuza involved. But its true its one of the ways for them to earn money. )

Check out 的屋(tekiya)

How people look at anime.. it really depends on which anime and person.

But Ghibli anime movies are all crazy popular. Everybody has watched at least one of them. I have never seen anybody who don't like it or don't know about it in Japan.

Thanks for the great explanation.
It's funny you say that about the yakuza running the stalls, I've never heard about that before.
I did watch one anime where a gang ran a bunch of stalls at a festival though!
