I don't know about others, but personally I've held a ASP pistol with eight-round magazine I believe. A bullet in the stomach/chest area will drop you, no matter how big you are. I'm pretty sure myself with an eight-round magazine (providing I had other magazines available to reload, of course), would easily be able to defend myself against a group of ten with baseball bats.

Well, if we had security measures like they did in the previews, then, I'd be set. Family friend has enough weapons/ammo to literally supply a small militia. And I have a few weapons of myself. So, other than that, I should be set. And family friend has a walk in freezer and cooler in the basement with enough food stored to last quite a few months if you made something new everyday.

If not with the security measures, would be a bit hard because in my area, most people have a weapon of some sort or something more.

That's completely false. When you say that humans are violent in nature you are basically saying that it is human instinct to be violent. Right?

Human instinct is to survive. Nothing else. If that means killing other humans in the process then so be it. It is also human instinct to assist in the survival to those close to them.

hrmm i dont know what i would do, i would probably go on the streets and try fuck shit up before it gets to rough although it will probably be more violent at the start. I wouldnt want to kill just steal but i think i would survive because where i live i know everyone all the hoodlyms dark shady people i would probably just stay at home if it was intense though.
