.NET

I have a coding Idea.

Hello HF.
I just had a brainwave, i do not know if this exists or if it has potential.

Right, you know when you had a long link and your wanting to put it in a thread?

Well i usually go to goo.gl and shorten it.

What about if there was a app running in the background on your PC with every single thing you copy it turns it into a URL shortner?

So as soon as you copy and paste it would be shortened?

Is that possible, or has someone already done this?
I guess you would start by listening to the keystrokes that are made (like a keylogger), and if control c is pressed, then it would automatically shorten the URL that is copied (if it is a URL) using goo.gl's api.
I assume its impossible to shorten it instantly because the API's can vary between fast and slow depending on the server load. But its certainly possible.
Each link would take between 0.5 seconds being minimum and 3 seconds average to process. Thats just an estimate by the way.

No... You can just run a loop and check the clipboard.

Or even better, set a clipboard hook and check if it is an URL. Is much more efficient and less cpu expensive.

I thought that was possible, just didn't say it because I was unsure and don't want to say false information.

Why not? Please explain, and also explain why I am a "Silly little retard".
If you need that explaining why you would not do that then i suggest you stop offering advice because you are a new programmer.

Been coding for 7, almost 8 years. Been making games for 3 years in pure code. Wouldn't say I'm new.

OP: Use a API hook: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10606...-in-vb-net
I do not have a clue what everyone is talking about here, i have no clue about coding. I just thought maybe someone could do something with it?
7 years and still offer terrible advice. Laugh worthy.

Terrible advice is still better then the advice you give.
Good idea. If you ever decide to make the App/Pro let me know.
Seems like a cool idea. I think I'm going to make myself a version of this, and if anyone wants it, I'll release it here.
