Posts deleted should have their quotes in the same thread deleted.

Posts deleted BY MODS should have the quotes in that same thread deleted.

The reason for the comment deletion is void if in the next reply someone quotes them. A good example is how someone accidentally shared a infected link here

https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3751791

I edited my comment and removed the link in the quote, however other posts with quotes on the thread still share the link.

This could be automated, don't think I am asking for mods to look through a whole thread for quotes.

The automation could just remove the text inside the quote but leave the quote tag.

Notes: The action will occur only on moderator deletion.
Note 2: The other posts wont be deleted, just edited to remove the quote (Automatically)
Note 3: Only the quotes in peoples posts would be deleted. Not the entire posts.
This...is actually something I support. I would have to have to go through say..20 pages of
crap removing those posts with links when the post itself could have been pretty hq.

Major support for this. I always wonder why the quotes are still there when the original posts are deleted.
It's a good idea but i think complicated to implement
It won't work if they don't directly quote them with the quote button...

It isn't as complicated as you think. When i quote you, the quote shows
pid='35188809'
After a moderator deletes a comment the script can iterate through each post inside the thread and search for the PID that was deleted. If it finds a quote with the PID it does a Regex replace.

But that is in most cases what happens.

Woo finally got one.
Not a bad idea, if easily implemented; why not?
Might as well, as it pretty effectively saves time

I prefer doing this on my computer. It's faster and less annoying. I can see all the replies.

I click quote when I'm on mobile, though.
I would like this, it'd save time for Moderators and it frees up Threads. Makes it look better. C;

Sometimes people delete posts because they realize that it made them look bad or some other reason, not because it broke a rule or anything. You shouldn't immediately delete all conversation that stems from that post. What about someone who quotes a post that quoted a deleted post? If one post is automatically deleted, then every post following that one needs to be deleted too because the entire train of conversation no longer makes sense.

Not to mention the huge amount of abuse that would follow from this for people who want to fuck with entire threads.

Instead what you should do is if you see a post that quotes something that has an infected link or something else that breaks the rules, you should report that post for whatever rule violation has incurred.

I never said the replies would be deleted. The quote would be nullified like this:

Also only reported posts, not user deleted posts.
The thing is it would really only be good if only mods could do it. The only instance where this would be useful is if there was an infected link or personal info that needed to be mass erased from a thread. A mod would have to manually remove it from all the quoted replies.

I think the posts should be unapproved instead.

Unapproved posts are hidden from everyone besides moderators and above.

That already happens, if an infected link is posted It's removed from all quotes in the thread.

Not completely true. My OP thread is a great example. If the mod doesn't do it then it doesn't get done is what the point im bringing, so it should be automatic.
