Seems like a good tool to have on your USB. Thanks OP, I wasn't aware of that program.

Not that I'm aware of, unless your BIOS gives you the option to boot from an SD card? I've never tried it though, so give it a go if it's your only option! :)

I always do for peace of mind, although you may not have to. I would Keep the added files in the main directory though.

Hope that answered your question 🙂

I'm surprised its not more popular, I didn't believe it until I tried it for myself.

Thanks for commenting 🤝

Did you open the KonBootInstall.exe and follow the command-line prompts?

It will ask you for the letter corresponding to your drive.
e.g. F:\ (as said in the tutorial)

If it doesn't work, I could upload the files that you need to put into your USB for you to copy and paste.

Let me know if you need them 🙂

Kon-Boot files

Just a added note; I have my USB formatted to FAT32, it seems to be more reliable with kon-boot.
and also mention that physical approach to the system is also required....any way good tut bro keep it up

Glad I could help!

If anyone else has any questions feel free to leave them here 🤝
Hello.

Decided to test this on my Windows 8 64 bit laptop, I wasn't expecting much but lo and behold; it actually works.

Do you think it'll work on the computers at my uni? They are all on a network but I'm curious.

Thanks.

As long as you have access to the BIOS, then it will boot with kon-boot.
Let me know how it goes!
Thnx for sharing this!
I already did this in another way,
First I formated a bootable USB, downloaded konboot ISO and used a program called ISO to USB to get the files working on the USB.
I was amazed how easy it is to bypass and change someones password using this :)
Not bad! Before I used Ophcrack but that required a disk drive which I was too lazy to purchase while building my PC. This is very nice of you!
