Quote:Ya but bitcointalk is pretty much the leader in these types of things and I have seen coins posted elsewhere first and then there a week or two later and they get alot of shit. If its going to be posted Today would be best You don't know what you're talking about when it comes to marketing. We don't need to run over to bitcointalk to get validation or for promotion. I'll comment more on this thread when I have time. (Dec 18, 2013 11:05 AM)xhflhkeuhwguu34 Wrote: Yes, you cannot run a Debian binary on CentOS. I know, there's obviously a reason they don't share repos and package formats. (Dec 18, 2013 12:47 PM)Omniscient Wrote: You don't know what you're talking about when it comes to marketing. I'm not sure exactly what point he's trying to get through, but personally I just meant that if we wanted the boost from them, it would be too late now, because everyone would hate the devs for not releasing it there first. I don't think you know what you're talking about when it comes to coins. If you regularly watch new coins being posted you will see how much shit they can get for not being posted on ANY of the major coin forums. This just happened to Netcoin, I'm not saying it's impossible to do without posting at bitcointalk but it has become something that is a huge helping hand if you want to get going. You say we don't need validation or promotion through them thats fine, but you should think about it in the terms they know a lot of things you, me, or a lot of members here don't know. They could have helped in making pools, making block explorers, making faucets, giveaways, etc. Why not try to diversify the coin? Why not get the word of the coin get out to the public, the very public who grows coins and gives them real value. If we are talking about this forum only using the coins that's fine, but if we wanted to try to get this a bigger coin to be possibly used in the future we are shooting ourselves in the foot by not doing it. Whats the bad thing about posting it there in your opinion? The coins birthplace is already on HackForums which can scare a lot of people off. Anyways I guess we may have different views when it comes to good marketing and good coin knowledge :P Inb4 I get a ban :P 🤝🤐🤝
Searching some partner to start another pool for this cryptocurrency. If u have experience, let talk to me at PM. More info at pm :P
Hope we can build in a future more pools to guys :P (Dec 18, 2013 02:16 PM)OICN Wrote: I don't think you know what you're talking about when it comes to coins. As both a theoretical marketer, and a self proclaimed Crypto Currency expert. We don't need promotion or validation from BitcoinTalk, since we have a budding community around it here. It may not be on Cryptsy without a post there, but it's budding, and it's supported by the community here. I think a fair amount of us on here at least have a BitcoinTalk account, though I'm not 100% on that, so we are part of the BitcoinTalk community, so more or less, it's been picked up by some of the community already. But the important word here, is community. We have one. Get a signed message before dealing: Keybase Still here sometimes. I can see the point you are making and that is valid, what I mean is the "helping hand" factor where it will be in 2 months will be less then were it could have been if it was posted at other places. Why not post it? What harm would it do? 🤝🤐🤝 (Dec 18, 2013 11:34 PM)OICN Wrote: I can see the point you are making and that is valid, what I mean is the "helping hand" factor Sliar does have a point. If the coin is going to rise in value, it will probably increase more if posted on Bitcointalk. Many people on that forum have at least decent rigs, while people on here are mining with a few kh/s or botnets (stereotypical). However, Omniscient really has the power to have an impact of the coin's value. Let him market/advertise it correctly, and everyone (at least on this forum) will be all over it. Either way, it's whether we want the coin to have an actual value, or to just be used on this forum. (Dec 18, 2013 11:39 PM)Jeff Jordan Wrote: Sliar does have a point. True, I mean anything posted on bitcointalk usually jumps 300mhash instantly. I do see what you mean about Omni having some power over the impact of the coin. Yes thats the question that needs to be addressed is it a coin for HF only or are we trying to have the next Dogecoin? :P 🤝🤐🤝 (Dec 18, 2013 11:34 PM)OICN Wrote: I can see the point you are making and that is valid, what I mean is the "helping hand" factor I agree that it should be posted, but that should be Aurora's call as to when, or when somebody gets fed up with waiting and takes matters into their own hands. I think it should be posted soon. Definitely before the first halving. But once again, I'm going to defer to Aurora. Get a signed message before dealing: Keybase Still here sometimes. |
