Because you're using timers, is the snow effect resource intensive or does it make the form laggy?
This would have been great if you released it 2 weeks ago. I have the same question as Torban: Will it lag the form?

I think it will but if not how do I get a GIF background for my PC 😵
STOP USING WINFORMS. Jesus christ why does EVERYONE in this section use it! WPF is rendered in DIRECTX WHICH USES THE GRAPHICS CARD. It actually hurts my brain watching everyone use this old GDI shit

I would gladly switch over to WPF if you taught me how to draw custom controls in it.

Totally vouch for what Aeon said, release some tutorials on how to draw custom. From my personal experience when I tried to make a Windows 8 app, there is no easy way of learning it. However, I am probably just being dumb haha

I tried WPF once, it was mehh. I didn't to have google open in my second screen the entire time... 🤫
Although it does provide plenty more features, like say in a textbox you can change the highlight color of the control itself instead of having to change the system wide highlight color
Congrats Xertz

People like you hurt my brain too.
I would use WPF if it were as straight-forward and well-documented like Windows Forms. Most things I can figure out on my own in GDI, but I would have no clue on how to do it in WPF, and there aren't any really good examples to learn from.
Also, simple UI elements are and can be drawn by the CPU without any problem. Just make sure your code doesn't waste any resources and works as efficient as possible.
Anyways, happy 2014 everyone!

I always used to use WinForms too, I tried to use WPF and YES it does look scary at first. When you actually get into it you honestly feel blessed. I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubbles here it's just that WPF is generally better if you take the time to learn it (GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND).

Add me on skype or something? I'd be glad to :)

Add me on skype or something? I'd be glad to :) Just because you use WPF doesn't meen you come to the ".net section" and try to force us to you WPF, just because you do, if you want us to use it so bad then make a tutorial about because its not as simple as it looks. I don't mean to be mean either

You realize WPF is part of .NET right? 🤦♂

First of all no one uses WPF because it's way too complicated thus there is almost no documentation i.e. no examples. It might be "better" but still the genuine Windows applications use GDI and all of the default framework controls use GDI. So, start posting WPF tutorials so we can start making custom controls and themes.
