[HELP] me Creating Secure Trial Versions for .NET Applications |

Why is this actually a question..? write another app for what? changing a few strings? ever heard of the compiles #IF statement? ![]() the compiler will read that and only compile the code that applies. I don't see how that has a lot of relevance, the guy is trying to make a Trial version of a sold product, he's saying that instead of making it super secure (which can be cracked), make a Demo version of the application (limited features) then link to buy and then give full version. However, his post doesn't have relevance either since he wants a Trial, not a Demo. OP, it will be cracked if someone really wants to crack it. Your best bet is to do all you can server sided, and only try and show things on the user end(depending on the application you're making of course since this seems a lil out there) but ya, nothing is 'secure', if someone REALLY wants it, they will get it. Best bet is making a custom obfuscation to slow people down / hope you can make a cracker angry enough to quit then server side the rest. (Jan 4, 2014 11:29 AM)Debroski Wrote: Sorry, what? It would be better to just make a demo application instead of a trial, since trials are included in the full application. Trials are easier to crack, demo's are not because who wants to crack an application that doesn't have all the features the full version does? Yes, I agree demo's are better in terms of not being able to be cracked(since you can't crack it.) but that's not what the OP wants, he wants to make a trial, not a demo. And demo's are shit anyway, I would much rather have a 30 day trial of anything than a demo, that's just annoying.
