Don't load images inside [spoiler]

Basically... don't load images within the [spoiler] tag until I click view.

The reason why I want this is because those on a bad internet connection might not want to load big images that are usually put inside a [spoiler] tag. In there case it would reduce the page loading time..
They load before you open them?

Always thought that was the point of them.
I don't think it's possible to do that.

If you have slow internet connection and just want to browse HF, use the Lite (Archive) Mode: https://hackforums.net/archive/index.php

It's possible with some JS code. It would be a lot of work for minimal benefit though
Browse HF in NSFW version if you need more speed.
There's probably no way to do this; Just live with it.
That's not something Hf can do I don't think, that would be a browser thing fetching all images and it would increase load time if you had to click spoiler to load it.

It is very much possible.
And I don't like the archive mode. It is ugly. I have no problem caching static content on this site that I regularly load such as smileys and such but loading images inside spoiler tag that are big and I have no interest in seeing is a no no for me. 😅

He still has to load the image even if he sees all the information long before the image.

Here... have a 5000x5000 image within the spoiler tag .. :

"don't open" (Click to View)

You just wasted 4MB in loading a 5000x5000 image have no interest in seeing or even loading.

@Everyone saying this is impossible.
YOU ARE WRONG
and here is the proof of that

It already exists. No work and just about few minutes to implement to HF.
Realistically this is something MyBB should implement themselves.

MyBB does not include the [spoiler] tag by default.. So realistically, no, they don't need to implement this (my suggestion) themselves as they don't even have the [spoiler] tag... 🤝

Anyways as I stated, the mod already exists...

If this is a third-party addition or plugins, Omni probably won't implement it as he prefer implementing additions to the website that he develop himself, and not rely on someone's else work.
Fiat justitia ruat cælum

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.

What ?
I guess because he knows how to develop mods for MyBB that he can read.. The code is there available for him to read, test and see if it is safe and any good. It is fine to "rely" on others work but be smart about it then.

But his choice. It was more of a proof for those whom were saying this would not be possible.
do nsfw version if you don't like it, there for a reason :)

the nsfw version does also preload the spoiler image so how does it "fix" this ?
I still would really like to see this happen... It can be very annoying if you view this site on a mobile with limited download and that download gets used in a bunch of 5MB images.
