I was against self automated vacation bans until you made this. Very nice.
This will make it annoying for hackers or whatever to force a vacation ban (compared to no payment).

I don't understand why you have limited Ub3r and 3p1c users to this? Why not l33t? It's more hassle for you to respond to l33t user's messages, lol. Anyhow, nice feature.

l33ts never had that feature in the first place and features won't be handed down to l33t or regular members, you need to upgrade.

I did a self ban for 3 days earlier, just logged in to check if it had worked as I didn't check after applying the ban and I had no ban

I unbanned the first few who did tests including you.

I do agree though that we'll need 2FA because as soon as someone compromises an account once they're done doing their business they'll ban the account.

I'm going to probably fix Secret Word plugin today. It had a couple minor problems and needed adjustment to really be a good plugin. I didn't write it so it's not really up to my standards for interface. Secret word should help secure more accounts and I'll implement it for 3P1C only.

One of my friends is crazy enough to stab me, that's just asking for trouble.

He bans you -> you punch him -> he stabs you -> you get shotgun -> you win -> wait out ban.

Maybe there could be set ban reasons like:

I'm technically losing money with 3P1C. OMC doesn't have enough exchanging yet for me to cash out any of them.

I believe this feature should have a password you can set seperate to your old one. Just in case your account is breached and with the fact 'Staff will not unban you' is just welcoming for people to get rid of enemies.

I'll try to deal with that today.

Banned is banned. You lose access to most HF features. I think you can technically still PW reset if your HF email is stolen but they can't login to your account and do anything else. Which would give you time to recover your account from an admin. Now if your account is stolen you can quickly self ban then work on account recovery without fearing your account will get used to scam. I suggest if you see any usual activity on your account you 3 day self ban. I'm sure this will get incorporated into instructions for stolen accounts. But we're going to have less stolen accounts anyways once I add more security features for 3P1C group.

I won't lift any self bans and you can try...sure. Just do it from your regular IP else I may think it's someone else and start banning IP ranges.

This is awesome, I am not fond of vacation bans, because when I get one I always worry about what is going on, so it's more worrying than just being online and posting. Maybe I should take HF less serious. Thanks Omni.

Eh, just because it exists doesn't mean you need to use it. I haven't and probably won't. If your account is pretty secure then there isn't much to worry about. A lot of people lack self control and take vacation bans because of that.
