Java

I am good at Java, if you have Java questions, post here or Sykpe me.

Hello! I'm pretty good with Java, post here for help or with ideas.
My Skype is [email protected], hmu.
I am getting into java. I get the understanding of it and what's possible with it.

But I want to create an app\program where it checks GPS location for where I am located. ( this personal first app for my self)
And tells me suggestions of what I should take. The bus, the train or a cab from specific locations that I'm at.

Ex:

If I set different locations like "Home" ( put address for that) and "Friend's home". It finds out which one I'm at or closest too.
It'll tell me if I should take the train or cab\bus depending on the distance. I would also have to put in information ( on average) in a text box how long it would take for the bus\train\cab to get there.

Then it calculates ok this one will take long. But.. Then it takes in the prices for the trip ( which I have to put in). And calculates which cost more. ( The end result will have to calculate which is best method to get to the desired location)

For the bus in order to know how far it is from here as well it'll scan this web page I know that provide live feed on how far the bus is in miles.

It'll finally ask me a set of questions like, how much money do you have? How many trips does your train\bus card have. And how desperately from 1-5 do I need to get to this location.

It sounds long but I know it's not hard, I'm willing to do it. I don't really know the important info like the packages and imports an stuff I'd need. And I'm still learning along the way.

Suggestion app depending on if's\else

First of all, I would offer you to use google maps api, they are using REST services and they are very good.

Here is a short explantation: You need to make an HTTP request with a URL with the parameters you wish (such as the location - longtitude, latitude, the address, and more), this code should be made in java. If you did everything correct, you will recieve a response of type (xaml or json, depends on the URL you sent, it is preferable to use JSON).

After you receive the response you need to deserialize it, which seems to be hard, but is very simple, for example JSON has many ways and built in methods to do it.

And then you can do whatever you wish with the objects you received.

So here are some links:

Google API - https://developers.google.com/maps/docum...ing/?hl=en and https://developers.google.com/maps/docum...l=iw&csw=1

JSON Deserialize - http://james.newtonking.com/json/help/in...toJSON.htm or a better one (if you want to make many requests) - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/webdev/archive/2...-2-rc.aspx

Also, if that doesn't work for you I'd just use Google maps. It does all that already.

Oh, Distance API is helpful too: https://developers.google.com/maps/docum...rix/?hl=en

Hahaha, feel free to add me for support and help.
We should make a game together?
I'm not good but I mean I can work with basic stuff.
It could be educational for me and profitable for the both of us! I'll contact you on Skype.
A game :/? Games are rarely profitable from experience :P. Unless you plan to hire a good graphics guy.
Well we should do some sort of project. I added you on Skype, accept it![/align]
Idk if I'm really looking to do a project with someone ;P.
I'm more of a lonewolf.
I'm getting an error when opening eclipse about jvm.dll, how do I fix it?
What libraries do you have imported Lits?
