Tips, Tricks and Good to know!

Okay, here's just a quickie and please feel free to add your own.

Simple way to access the task manager

Most people know that the way of accessing the task manger in Windows by pressing Ctrl and delete but there are much simpler ways of doing this:
  • Right click on the task bar and scroll down to where you see task manager.
  • Alternatively and even simpler just hold down Ctrl, Shift and Esc simultaneously and the task manger will immediately appear.

Recovering Incognito history

Some people believe that when they go incognito nothing gets stored but they forget about the DNS cahe. You can recover the history by performing the following:
  • Open CMD and type without quote: "ipconfig /displaydns" and then press enter. After that a list of recently accessed domains should appear.

Why never to open spam mail?
  • When you open spam mail this sends a signal back to the sender alerting them that your account is active. This is good news for the malicious hacker or marketeer. So it's best to delete without even opening.

That's all I got for now. Hope some of you find that useful and please post your own.

I was forced to learn a lot of these keys when my mouse broke and had no money to buy one xD It is extreamly helpful to navigate through your desktop with just the keyboard. Quicker too on a laptop!
If you have a mechanical keyboard and your esc key is a lot closer to ~ than usual, hitting ctl alt esc is a fast way of bringing up task manager.
Most of this stuff I know works on Windows 8, and it might or might not work on prior versions.

The Win8 task manager's process list lacks a lot of running applications. Use the built-in Resource Monitor (or a third-party application) to find programs that may be hogging up CPU & RAM that are otherwise undetectable by Task Manager (for example, virtual machines you forgot to shut down).

If you're uploading an image from one website to another: copy the image URL, go to the upload site & open the upload explorer dialog window, paste the image URL into the name field, and Explorer will download the image to a temp folder and then select it for uploading. Learned this one yesterday, actually.

A bit obvious for anyone advocating Windows 8, but Win+X brings up a very helpful shortcut menu.

Ctrl+w closes Explorer windows just like Chrome/FF/Opera tabs.

Shift-right clicking taskbar entries brings up the old XP-esque context menu instead of the 7/8-style jumplist-and-other-things menu.

That's all I can think of for now.
Thanks man your the best and right so good

2. Remotely view system information of another computer on your network using Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Create a custom console with only the tools your interested in.

Seriously no other Windows tips/tricks? ok. . Ummmm...

Know about QoS? It stands for quality of service. It gives an application higher networking priorities. (0-63) 63 is highest.

Start > gpedit.msc. To apply settings before the user logs in apply the settings in Computer Configuration. Vise Versa for User; i:e after window login.

My bad, (Edit not my bad, this isn't a tutorial lol.) I know the Pro and Business edition have the feature. Looks like a few others have it as well.
