A lot of proxies I try to use are slow or either offline 99.9% of the time.

I don't own HideMyAss.
It's considered to be the best by many and I myself have had no problems with them.

Obviously you don't own it, I know that.

HMA isn't #1 though, I personally dislike it because everytime I try to use a proxy, it's offline or super duper slow.

Have you tried changing the filters?
Make sure they're all set to High/Fast.
It's what I do, maybe that'll help.
